Red Faction Guerrilla Game Stutters
Replies: 8 | Post Date: 12-09-2009, 10:45 PM | User: Epos9889 | Forums: hardforum.comSo im not sure if this is in the right section but whenever i play red faction guerilla and get into a vehicle and start to driver to a different part of the map ever 3 or so seconds i well get what can best be described as a stutter where the game slows and lags some but my fps stays the same. This problem so far has only happened on this one game and there have been one or two times that this doesn't happen.

Pc Audio And Video Stutters
So recently, i noticed some stutters occurred whenever there's a sound on my pc (even the 'pop' sound when we safely remove flash drive) and the flv videos also have the same problem. As if somebody clicking pause-play-pause-play at an enormous speed. My pc system:
Windows xp
Intel(r) core (tm)2 duo cpu
E4500 @ 2. 20ghz
2. 20ghz, 2. 00gb of ram
I don't play video games on my pc, i only use it for work (adobe photoshop), i tunes, streaming videos and internet browsing, and my pc handled all of that activities at once flawlessly, until now. The 'stuttering' just happened 2 days ago, i was listening to my i tunes and all of a sudden to sound starting to crawl. There are things that may (or may not) have caused this problem that i had done prior to the problem:
1. I upgraded my kaspersky anti virus from 2009 to 2011. At first it was fine, but after i ran the full scan, the kaspersky started to wear down my pc, therefore i removed it with kav remover (but after i finished the scan)
2. I downloaded a file via torrent (vuze), and things started to slow down in the middle of the process (i did this the same time as kaspersky full scan was just minutes away from finish)
After i removed the kaspersky, my pc is back to it's normal speed but leaving the sound and videos un-repaired. Here's the list of things i have done in order to fix this:
1. Did a disk cleanup and free about 20gb of space. 2. Uninstall vuze
3. Did a full scan with 'lighter' antivirus (eset nod32) which also scans spyware, malware etc. 4. I used startup cpl 2. 8 and disabled all start up programs (not the programs entirely, just disabling them to start they same time windows starts)
5. Cleaning the dust inside my cpu. Although the speed of my pc is now back, the audio and video still stutters. The stutters' getting worse when im listening to i tunes while doing another process (like browsing the web for example). What might have caused this? And how do i fix this?

Keyboard With A Red Backlight
Im looking for a new keyboard with a red backlight to match my system im undecided on the logitech g15 the saitek cyborg and the razor lycosa but i cannot find the razor lycosa with a red backlight do they exist? Anyone else have any keyboard suggestions must have red backlight.

Red Screen - Gpu Defective ?
Lately when i play c. O. D mw2 after while i get red screen with blue-greenish dots and nothing works then. I cant go back desktop with crtl + alt + esc, to check what could possible be wrong. I have to force shutdown the whole pc and restart to get back to normal. Cant play the game more than 10-15 min before this happens. Is something wrong with my video card maybe? Its nvidia xfx 260 gtx. Is there a software to check gpu health ?

Red Vertical Lines On Monitor
How can i find out whats wrong with my dell monitor? My dell 17' inch flat screen monitor has red vertical lines in the middle of my screen. I'm wondering if its a bad cable connection problem. After i boot-up the system up its not there, but within a few minutes the red lines appear. I've tried it with my other systems and the same thing happens. I purchases the monitor directly from dell in 2006w my dell dimension e310 system.could it be that the monitor is wore out, or could it be just a bad cable connection? The cable i have attached to the monitor came with the monitor. If i purchase another one of the same kind would that clear out the red lines on the monitor? Need answer asap before i throw this monitor away & purchase another one those red lines are driving me nuts!

On Case Battery Shape Is Blinking As Red
I bought yesterday another motherboard p4s800 and it is okey. It works. By the way i just installed new motherboard instead of old one. On case battery shape under reset button is blinking as red. Can it be older motherboard's battery empty or related?Wyh my new motherboard is blinking red buttery shape?
Do you have any idea? Can it be cmos battery charge? It is still blinking as red.

Seagate Barracuda Hdd Led Is Always Red
Recently my computer often stops functioning while i was operating, and the hd led is always red , it does not flicker. After i pressed reset , the hd led is still red until loading windows. Sometimes, windows cannot even be loaded, and the led is still red. But some other time, it's ok again, i guess there might have been some serious problem with my hd , since i've already tried the disk tools in windows. I'd appreciated it very much if you could give me a hand with this. My hd is seagate barracuda 7200 rpm , 80gb

Modem Internet Light Turns Red
Why does my internet disconnect all of a sudden? This happens about once to two times a day the green light on my modem (the internet light) turns red without blinking, and i have to unplug the power cable and then plug it back again. This has never happened before, well it did but not everyday. I recently went wireless (like one month ago) because i bought an ipod, but this began happening about two weeks ago. Also my modem is in an enclosed area. What can i do?

Lg Television Flashing Red Light After Shutting Down
Lg 32cm full high definition television. Flashing red light after shutting down wont power back up? I have only bought a lg full high definition tv. Its only been in operation for around 3 hours and it suddenly turned off and wont start back up. Every time i turn it back on it powers up for about 10 seconds then turns off again. The monitor light keeps flashing red after its shut down.

Computer Wont Boot - Red Hdd Led
Recently i got a 1. 00ghz celeron (coppermine, 100x10) from a friend for free. I was planning to use it in an older computer of mine, a system with a celeron 433 (mendocino, 66x6. 5). I removed the heatsink, installed the processor, applied thermal grease, replaced the heatsink, closed the system up but when i tried to boot it up, but all i get is the red hdd led, instead of the green "power" led and (older) "turbo" led which both is supposed to be on. The motherboard i tried it on is an asus mew-aml which is supposed to support processors on the 100mhz fsb. I remembered to change the jumpers (because it will only run at 66mhz if i dont). After it refused to boot, i reinstalled the original processor, but i ended up with the same problem. Can anyone tell me what the problem is? I need to know if my motherboard is fried.

Why does my router constantly disconnect at night? I have a 2wire router and my internet provider is at&t. It rarely happens during the day, but at night the light marked internet would turn red, knocking me of the internet. It flashes red for a minute then the light goes off, only to return green moments later. It'll keep turning off and on all night, and it gets really frustrating.

Random Bsod And Red Lines In Mass Effect 2 - 8800gt
Ok so i have had this 8800gt for a while now and had to send it in once to xfx before for random bsods. The problem wasnt as bad when it got back but it was still kinda there. I would get bsods very randomly and sometimes not for weeks. So i just recently got mass effect 2 and loaded it up and played it and it worked fine for a little while (i had a extra stick of ram in there i stole from my wifes comp, but it was causing a lot of bsods so i took it out since i think its bad) and then out of the blue it showed a bunch of red lines on the screen and then the computer shuts off the video and needs to be restarted. So i was wondering if this is a temp issue or what. So i got furmark and have been running it on the extreme gpu burn in or whatever mode its called. My max temps in it are 65 and i havent seen anything higher than that. I have ran memtest for my memory all day before and it never has a problem. Here are my full specs:
Intel e6550
Xfx 8800gt alpha dog
2gb ocz gold ddr2 800
Intel dg33bu motherboard
Antec earthwatts 500w
So i guess my question is, should i just send my card in to xfx for them to take a look at it? My card has a arctic cooler on it with the fans and some custom ram sinks my friend sent me. All of a sudden the red led which represents hardisk usage stops blinking once it gets past the mother board display and etc (you know at the start where it says bla bla is slave drive and etc. ) So even in dos it doesnt light up. Why would this be.

Game Freezes
I had a virus and had to reinstall windows. Everything is wroking fine now except any 3d game i play. Sometimes i can join a game and play for 2 minutes or so, and others i can't even pick a team yet and the game freezes and makes the sound loop and my moniter status light goes from green to orange. I have windows updated, directx 9. 0c, and the latest ati graphic drivers. Is the card over heating? It doesn't feel hot and never has before. Is my offbrand cheap aspire x-alien generic psu crapping out on me? Should i try older versions of dx or gfx drivers?

Game Getting Stuck
I just formated my pc and reinstalled everything. Now when i started to play deus ex on multiplayer, it started to lag. If i start running i would stop suddenly and could see a couple of frames pass by and then return to normal for like 4 seconds. The same cycle goes over and over again. I have a cable internet connection and ping is also like 124 in the game. Moreover, my computer and graphics cards for far better than what the game requires.

Pc Shuts Off When Access A Game
Every time i access a game my pc shuts off or sometimes the monitor only shuts off and i can hear some noises from the game. I searched and searched in the internet how to fix this problem but many came up with replacing your v card so i did, but in fact my new v card "radeon 9550" works fine but after 2 hours the monitor again shuts off unexpected the symptoms again showed up. Until i installed a speed fan and discovered my pc is heating up to temp:60c even if there is no active application, and in fact i have 2 fans blowing towards the cpu and i removed the cpu skin. But the problem persists.
When i played "warrock" with my new v card it turned out well but after a few minutes the monitor again shuts off and i heard sounds of that game i pressed ctrl+alt+del luckily the monitor again starts back up because warrock has been ended using task manager the same thing happens with my old v card. After a few minutes i executed again warrock and opened the speed fan(application)it went temp:70c after that it gone busted and i tried to view the task manager under the performance tab i saw 100% cpu usage.guyz i was wondering what made the heat so intense even if i had only a single application running and last week even i accessed the internet chatting with yahoo and executed warrock at the same time it turned out well and no signs of computer failure and back then it is my old v card.

Reguarding Performance In A Game
Anyway, was wondering how i would do performance wise with an athlon64 3700+ san diego, dfi lanparty sli-dr mb, and geforce 6800gt running at 1600x1200 in battlefield 2. (High detail, aa, af)
On my current computer, im having a hard time turning details up at all at 1280x1024, but then again, my comp isnt that great. And also, has anyone played the fear beta? I tried it out last night but i have to run at 640x480 (lol!) Just to get rid of the constant skipping. This game has to be a lot more graphic intensive than battlefield. Anyone know what i could push the settings to with my future build (mentioned before)?

Game Server Advice
I want to build a game server for cod 4 for my clan the other leader is hsoting a cs server and i would like to make a build to host cod4 and i have a ok internet ocnnection cable internet to host it on and i would like it to atleast run 15-20 players off of it (if possible) i was thinking maybe i need to most of my money into ram and cpu i would like it to not be alot 500 dollars or 450 will be fine if i can go that cheap for a game server.

I want to build a game server for cod 4 for my clan the other leader is hsoting a cs server and i would like to make a build to host cod4 and i have a ok internet ocnnection cable internet to host it on and i would like it to atleast run 15-20 players off of it (if possible) i was thinking maybe i need to most of my money into ram and cpu i would like it to not be alot 500 dollars or 450 will be fine if i can go that cheap for a game server.

Aa/af Settings - Drivers Or In-game?
I usually force aa and af settings through my drivers and never really bother with the in-game settings for those. Recently however i read that using the in-game settings is recommended as they're usually more optimized, resulting faster performance and even looking better than the driver settings at times. I was wondering if that's truly the case.

Is One Game Windowed On Each Monitor Possible ?
I frequently play eve-online with 2 accounts running, one on each monitor without issue. There is a way to select between 2 display adapters in game settings (even though i only have one gfx card). My monitors are 1920x1200 and a smaller one which is 1440x900. I normally play at 1680x1050 on the bigger one and 1360x768 on the smaller one. I'm trying to get eve on one monitor and hon on the other but, when i drag hon to my second monitor eve becomes very choppy. It's fine if i leave them both on the same monitor. Is there a way to have each game on a separate monitor?

Blue Screens On Every Other Game
This problem has just started happening a couple days ago. When ever i play a game, about 10-30 min into that game i get either a crash to desktop or a blue screen. I mostly get blue screens though. I haven't changed anything in my system. But for some reason when i play a game like dawn of war 2 i can play for 1h+ with out blue screening or crashing. Every other game crashes for me. Do you think my card is dieing?

What To Upgrade First To Game At 2560x1600 ?
I just purchased a 3007wfp-hc which i'm in love with. However, i now need to game at 2560x1600 whenever possible. Since i just got that monitor i don't really have the spare cash to do a full out upgrade. I would like opinions on what would be the more valuable upgrade to me in terms of gaming performance. I could go core i7 920/mobo/6gb ram or i could start with my video card, something like a gtx 285 or possibly even a 295. What would get me the most performance right now? I'm currently playing l4d, cod4 and 5, fallout 3, farcry 2 and wow. My specs are in sig. Thanks in advance for any help.

Flickering Screen In Game
I initially posted this in the gaming forum but that ended up being the wrong spot. I recently tried loading up knights of the old republic to pass the long nights with my new baby but have been getting a flickering in the game. It happens in the menus and the game, but not during the cut scene videos. Video card is an old, agp, radeon x1950 pro, and the rest of the machine is standard, older stuff - a64 3200. I'm pretty sure i've played the game on this card before but the os is new since i last played it; upgraded xp to win 7 rc. I've tried switching to different resolutions and refresh rates, v-sync on and off, changing the various dvi settings in the catalyst control center; nothing has made any difference. Any ideas would be super.

Random Reboot During A Game
Random reboot after playing a game for about 1-2 minutes (in case you were wondering, the games were cs:source and the matrix online). Here is when this started. I've mentioned before, but i have one stick of kingston 512 pc3200 and another stick of mushkin 512 pc2100. I understand that the pc2100 slows my pc3200 down, so i decided to take it out and allow the pc3200 to run at its full potential. During the boot-up process, i decided to pay a visit to my bios. My fastwrite option was enabled, so i disabled it. Saved the changes and rebooted the computer. This is when the random reboots began to occur. Nothing would happen unless i was playing a game. So i put the stick of ram back in there, enabled the fastwrite option again, and now its back to normal. However, the games are a lot choppier than they were before. Specs:
Amd athlonxp 3200+
Asus a7n8x-e deluxe nvidia nforce2 chipset (bios may be outdated)
Ram = see above
Ati radeon 9800 pro (256mb)

Everyone knows that the best way to control fps's is with a mouse and keyboard. A d-pad or joystick just doesnt cut it. So when playing on a console the experience just isnt the same, lets face it. So why does a controller not exist with a little track ball on it so that it can be used in fps's?
