No Post, No Beep Code, Nothing

A week ago, i had a fully running system that had worked fine for the past 2 years. What ended up happening is my video card began to fail, artifacting all over the place and eventually locking up. I sent it in to get it rma'ed and its in the mail. I got bored yesterday and decided to upgrade my video gard since radeon 4870's were on sale for 170 at my local shop. The card worked great, i played some tf2, messed with the clocks a little bit, watched my little bro play some wow etc. It worked fantastic, and was only 170. Good deal it seems. I made sure that the power requirements would not be too much. The card only uses 180 or so if i remember correctly, so it should be fine with a 500w unless my math is beyond retarded. Anyways, this morning i turn my box on and get no bios post message, no beep code, nothing. It powers up fine, but absolutely nothing happens other than fan activity and power lights. I can feel the harddrive spinning up, and the cdrom drive also works. This is what i have done so far:

-Checked all connectors, reconnected the video card power supply cables (what are those called anyways?). -Checked that my monitors were working (both dvi and vga monitors). -Pulled out all sticks of ram but one w/ video card in. Nothing. -Pulled out all ram and video card, turned it on, nothing. -Pulled out the video card, turned it on. Nothing. -Reset the bios by taking out the battery and using the reset jumper as instructed by my mobo's manual, put it all back. Nothing. -All of the capacitors on the motherboard look intact. -As far as i know nothing got hot last night, i was watching the temps to see how hot the new card runs. When i power it on everything comes alive, but i noticed that the harddrive activity light has nothing on it. Not sure if that means anything. I don't have another video card or desktop handy to swap cards/boxes to verify the video card is working/eliminate it as the problem, but i plan to do that later on today and will update this post, i just had a minute to post so i was hoping i could get some tips.system:-

Asus p5l-vm 1394 mobo
Asus 8800gts 320mb (now its a sapphire radeon 4870 1gb)
4gb of kingston ddr2 ram
500w psu
Intel core 2 duo e6600
320gb seagate hard drive.

Beep Code

Whenever i turn on my computer, it makes this long beep noise and i am guessing somethings wrong with it. The thing is, everything seems to work fine. >_>;; i tried to "decode" the beep code, but i must be quite stupid, because i can't seem to match with the right one. My motherboard is: ga-965p-ds3. The beep codes listed on its manual are:
-
1 short: system boots successfully
2 short: cmos setting error
1 long 1 short: dram or m/b error
1 long 2 short: monitor or display card error
1 long 3 short: keyboard error
1 long 9 short: bios rom error
Continuous long beeps: dram error
Continuous short beeps: power error
-

I have recorded the beep noise with my mp3 player and the sound has been slightly distorted(?), But it didn't change much from the actual sound.

Beep Code - 1 Long, 2 Short

This morning my pc told me my network cable was unplugged after being on the net for 30 min. I rebooted the computer and was confronted with the beep code: 1 long, 2 short. No video though case and cpu heat-sink fans are running. I researched these codes and found : video ram error or memory error (depending on where i went). This is what i've tried:

(1) reseated video card and memory
(2) swapped video card to diff pci-e slot
(3) swapped video card for known working backup
(4) swapped memory for spare set of 2x512mb pc 3200
(5) gave mobo a once over to check for blown caps >>>none found

Things i'm contemplating doing:

(1) changing power supply (too much hassle now since i'm going to work in 20 mins). (2) try other 2 memory slots (didn't do it yet since manual said to use a1 and b1 slots for my configuration). This incident will make me get off my ass and finally upgrade to my i7 system in waiting, but i hate to build under these conditions. Any and all input and suggestions are appreciated. This is my system:

Asus a8n 32sli deluxe
Opteron 170 (stock)
Evga 8800gts video card
2x1gb ocz ddr pc3200 (set to correct voltages and timings)
Enermax noisetaker eg701 power supply
Samsung and seagate sata drives (2 of each)
Benq 1620 dvd burner

Beep Code After Changing Psu

I have an old pc socket 370, my psu 200w went wrong (capacitor blew up) so i had to change another 230w instead. But when i turn my pc on, my display was still black, it led flickered and there were a series of beeps: the first two beeps very fast, interrupted, 8 beeps, interrupted, 2 bip fast, interrupt and the last beep. Because my pc is too old, the mainboard's manual is lost. Can anyone help me with this hard situation. Ps: i tested ram, cmos battery in another pc. All worked well. My pc has 1 cdrom, 1 hdd, 1 agp 2x 4mb, 1 pci soundcard.

Compaq Laptop Beep Code

Compaq laptop beep code 1-3-4-3 ? Get a beep code that translates as test 512 kb base memory. How do i fix? (Compaq presario laptop with xp). Answer:- 1-3-4-3 refers to "test 512kb base memory". It suggests replacing the ram. If you have more than one memory module, alternate them and see if the computer will boot with either of them installed. Or you can run memtest. It will take a while: http://www.Memtest.org/

Pc Does Not Even Get To Post Beep

The pc in question worked fine up until a couple weeks ago, the only recent upgrades made to it were adding a half gig of ram and a new video card, both of which worked fine for several months before the computer died. I've tried installing both the original ram and the original video card, neither have resolved the issue. When i turn the pc on now the machine has power, all fans etc start running, but the monitor recieves nothing and the machine does not even begin to approach the post beep. So right now the running total is that i've swapped out the video card, ram and power supply, i don't have a spare motherboard and/or processor around but i'm dreading the prospect of that being the last step. Can anyone think of something i might have missed?

Pc Will Not Boot, No Post Beep

My wife and i have matching custom built pc's. Recently the liquid cooling system in her pc needed to be flushed and refilled. I removed the mobo from the computer, pulled the cooling system from the cpu, flushed and refilled, cleaned and prepped both heatsink and cpu and applied new thermal compound, reassembled the system and turned it on. First time after flush it ran fine for about 10 minutes, then shut down normally (on it's own). Since then it has not booted properly. The indicator light on the mobo is illuminated, showing that there is power. Upon pressing the pwr switch, all devices begin to run, all fans, drives, and keyboard/mouse turn on, but the bios never starts to boot, and no post beep sounds. I am thinking that it is most likely the mobo or cpu but was hoping that someone could post an alternative here that i could try before shelling out the $200-$300 for replacement parts as everything is past warranty (by like 3 months).

No Post Beep Or Video

Recently my pc froze and when i reset it, no post beep and no video (no visual bios) or even beep codes. The power supply comes on and the drives are operational. It will stay like that for awhile. We cleaned the inside. Is it a virus issure or ram or what? We did nothing to disturb the comp. No new software or files. The only thing that might have provoked this was the fact i was running spybot and and switched users on xp and that might have taken cpu.

Asus A8n-e Boot Problem (beep Error Code)

I've been running xp on a asus a8n-e motherboard for a good while without any problems. The other day i replaced my hiper type r 580w psu with a corsair hx 520w, and now the pc won't boot and beeps 1 long followed by 3 short. I've stripped it down to bare essentials (motherboard, vc, memory and cpu) but i get the same problem. The problem also persist when i reconnect the hiper psu. 1. Reseating everything. 2. Using any possible combination of memory stick(s) and slots. 3. Resetting the cmos. The rest of the pc is as per sig, with the exception for vista which will be installed when (if!?) I can sort this.

No Post Screen Or Bios Beep

An old amd xp1600 system gave up the ghost. I've replaced the psu with a qtec 350w, replaced the mobo with an asus p4r800 vm and the new cpu is a p4 2. 8 ht and changed the memory to 512mb ddr400.connected all the ide cables, cpu fan cable, and both power cables to mobo and the front panel connectors to the header. When i power up the pc the cd/dvd drives work, cpu fan spins, power led on mobo lights and hdd makes encouraging sounds but no post screen or bios beep. Have tried reseating and checking all the connectors but still no joy. Anybody got any ideas why i shouldn't be getting a beep or post screen?

Installed Ram, No Post, No Beep

Well, i went about to install a new stick of ram into my system (1 gb) but i forgot to unplug my power supply, grrr i'm heavily regretting this. I did ground myself (i have insulating gloves too) but i doubt that helped in this case. After installing my stick of ram, i realized that my power supply was still plugged into the wall, and now my computer does not post (no beeps). I tried booting system from barebone (vid card, 1 stick of ram, no hdd, no sata drives) but still no luck. Argh, any suggestions?

Computer Freezing Post Beep

My pc sometimes won't load on after pressing the power on button. Ctrl alt del doesn't help, but resetting the computer does help whereupon the computer loads on as it supposed to. The moments enduring this error the display on the screen isn't turned on at all. All you hear are the fans rotating, additionally the traffic led stays on. The computer isn't encountering the post beep. I would say that this error happens randomly to a scale of 1:6. On several forums i read that this could have to do with a lot of things, mainly on the hardware side, like an overheated processor, video card or even a psu transferring too much voltage. Please tell me how to forestall freezing my pc?

Beep Indicating No Errors During Post

I just built a rig for my brother with the following specs, everything seems to be powering up ok and the system even seems to be booting (i get a beep indicating no errors during post), but for some reason, the monitor isn't receiving a signal. The 9700 seems to be powered fine; its fan is running. It doesn't seem to be the card itself or the agp port since we've tried using a pci video card as well. We've tried different memory and different monitors. We have tried clearing the cmos as well. Nothing seems to be working. Any suggestions?

Abit At8 Won't Boot - Post Code 90

I've had this problem with my system since i built it, but it seems to have gotten worse lately. When i start up my system, it powers up but doesn't post. The code on the motherboard led display is 90 (which corresponds to "completed uguru initial process: award bios taking over boot job") but it hangs there indefinitely. If i do a reset, it switches over to code f0 (which just says "button rest") and then hangs there indefinitely. Usually, if i do some esoteric combination of hitting the reset and power buttons, it will eventually post correctly (i know this sounds ridiculous, but it's true). But i can't seem to replicate it now. Any help is appreciated. I've swapped all sorts of hardware in and out including the memory and the cpu and it doesn't affect this whatsoever. -Athlon 64 3500+
-Abit at8
-Kingston hyperx 4x 1gb
-Asus en9800gtx+

Bad Motherboard, No Display, Post, No Beep Codes

Well yesterday i was playing hon for an hour or so then i logged off to take a break. That's when the computer started to lock up in intervals every 30-40 seconds then it finally froze up completely then my computer shuts down. Now when i start it, it boots but there is no post screen nor display and there are no beep codes to indicate hardware failure. So i am guessing the motherboard is toast? Or can it be that the cpu is fried? I don't have spare parts to test in this rig so i am pretty much sol and need to diagnose this properly so i can rma whatever is faulty. Here is the setup

Amd x2 5000+
Biostar gf8200 m2 se+
Msi 9800 gt oc
Nvidia sli-ready ddr2-800 2gb x2

I've taken the graphic card out and tried booting it using the internal gpu but it still showed no display. Also tried alternating the ram sticks and booting with one of each, still nothing. The only thing i can think of is either the cpu or mb.

Keyboard Error: ( Code 41 )

Yesterday someone came out and connected my computer to my home network. After they left and i got back to my computer, i found that my keyboard didn’t work. I found that in the device manage my keyboard's icon had an exclamation point next to it, and when i clicked on it it said:"windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but cannot find the hardware device. (Code 41)". I assumed there was something wrong with my ps2 port, so i went out and bought a usb keyboard. No luck. So far i have tried: removing the driver and reinstalling it, removing the driver, unplugging the keyboard, plugging it in and installing the driver, removing the driver in safe mode (which i can access by the way; the keyboard stops working when the computer starts up. ), Trying different keyboards, and even removing sp2 (that solved someone on a different forum's problems), and nothings worked so far. I've also tried system restore, but i don’t know for sure if it restored my computer to a time earlier than when it was messed with. The person who connected me to the network is on vacation now, so i cant really contact them. I've scoured the internet (using the onscreen keyboard), and can't find anything helpful, also i forgot to mention that the buttons on the top of the keyboard work. (Buttons specific to the keyboard like media, favorites, volume etc).

Nvidia Geforce - Code 12

I have a year old polywell with 2 gb of ram, amd 4800 and a nvidia geforce 7800 gt card and a samsung 970p monitor. Recently my screen has slowed down and when i scroll up and down instead of scrolling smoothly it scrolls one section of a time and has become very choppy. I went to my device manager and under display adaptor the nvidia geforce 7800 gt card has a exclamation point. When i went into the nvidia geforce 7800 gt card properties i get the following message for the device status:

"This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)

If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system. Click troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device. "

Is my graphics card dying?

When i go inside my computer and to make sure the graphic card is securely attached and put everything together, the graphic card works again and everything is fine. The next time i boot up the computer, the graphic card does not work and i get the same code 12 problem. Any advice on how to fix this.

Device Will Not Start (code 10)

Ok, concerning all that i found elsewhere in reference to external hard drives and the "device will not start (code 10)" message, i am going to take a leap here and assume that it may have crossed paths on this forum also. Believe me when i say that i tried every piece of advice i came across and none of it has worked. Yes, i changed usb slots, i removed the drivers from the registry physically and rebooting my win xp made no difference whatsoever. Does anyone have the solution to this problem?

I'm tempted to switch from usb to firewire but not so sure it wouldn't end up in the same spot and still leave my 200gb of info totally out of reach. I'm looking for a solution that leaves my external hd intact and functional unless there simply is no cure for this problem. I am looking for expert advice from the experts for i am not one.

Error: This Device Could Not Start ( Code 10 )

I have 895mb of ram on my system now, but i started with 1gb? Anyways, i kept getting blue screens and they told me to use a new video adapter. I got a new video card and it reccomends 1gb of ram. It has a vga adapter that you have to connect your monitor to for it to work. I went into device manager and it said "this device could not start (code 10). " Then after some lagg, the computer froze. Is this a ram problem? And if it is, can i just buy one stick of 2gb ram instead of adding 1gb to the current 895mb? I have windows vista home basic 32-bit. Int pent 4 proc. 3. 0ghz. I went into system setup when it booted, and changed the primary video card to pci-e, which is what the new video card runs on. The video card is the radeon hd 3650 1gb ddr2. This is like my 3rd topic, i know. Bare with me, i keep running into like 2 different problems every day.

Bsod - Cannot Catch The 0x00 Code

For some reason my friend's laptop gets the blue screen of death. He took it to best buy and all they could tell him is that it was not the hard drive because they replaced that. It wont boot to windows, and it doesnt pause long enough on the blue screen for me to catch the 0x00 code. I am experienced in computers, but i have always worked on desktops, not laptops. Is there any way i can test his hardware without a hardware tester and spare hardware? Im thinking it is the onboard video or the whole motherboard itself. Best buy also said that it"may" be that the motherboard is bad. Any suggestions?

Error Installing Nic - Code 35

My friend has a asus m3a79-t deluxe, he's trying to install a wireless card. The drivers install fine and everything is hunky dory except for this error:

Your computer's system firmware does not include enough information to properly configure and use this device. To use this device, contact your computer manufacturer to obtain a firmware or bios update. (Code 35)

His bios is fully up to date. It just doesn't make any sense to me. The only possible solutions are "update the bios" which he has done. So what the *** is going on? Thanks in advance

Oh. He has vista ultimate 64 bit, 8gb of ram, phenom ii 940 (i think), nothing's overclocked.

Quadro4 Nvs 400 Code 12

I'm the proud owner of two quadro4 nvs 400's, and i'll also be happy once i can fix a glitch with them. I had 1 nvs400 installed and 4 crt's worked fine. I just added another nvs400 today, and it revealed the glitches. When i have them both installed: device manager. Display adapters. Shows an error "code 12" of "not enough free resources for it to use". Only 1 of the 4 quadro nvs' has the error. Oddly, of the 6 monitors i have attached, only 3 of them show the desktop, whereas the previous single nvs card allowed 4 to work. The one that has the error is at:
Pci slot 3 (pci bus 7, device 4, function 0). It's 'enabled', and has the driver from 11-15-04 (6. 7. 2. 2). The resources tab says "if you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system. My system is a 925x express chipset (dell dimension 8400)
P4 3. 6ghz
1gig 533mhz ram
350 watts
It has no onboard video

I do investing for the benefit of charity and aid/education groups, so i really hope i can get 2 nvs400's running on this system.

Wii Error Code 52130

I keep trying to connect my wii to the router, but i can't seem to get it working anymore. I get error code 52130 i think it was. The thing i am not sure about is that i am using a wireless card with a laptop, and plugging that into the "internet" port on the router. I am wondering if i would also need at least 1 computer on the port though because i don't think the router can have an ip address without it having a computer to connect to first. However, i have done it before, and i'm not sure how. I also have a modem, but no other internet to my home.
