Lose My Dsl Internet After Screen Saver Starts

I've gone into the power management and turned off the option to power down the nic card when winxp enters screen saver mode. I also have turned off hibernation
Everytime i come back to the computer (say 30-60mins) i have no internet connectivity or very slow connectivity.

Wireless Network Lose Its Internet Connection
Okay so we run a wireless network at home. We have sbc dsl and use the 2 wire router with 802. 11b wireless to 2 computers while the main computer is connected via the ethernet connection to the router itself. The problem is one of the computers (my brother's) will lose its internet connection after alot of bandwidth is used in a short amount of time. But the network connection remains. If you download several things at once, play a game online, or do anything requiring extensive bandwidth usage it will lose the internet. Its as if the router quits sending the internet to the computer although it still says "excellent connection" on the wireless utility program. Even after a fresh reformat the problem persists. I have no issues with either of the other computers in my house hold. Any suggestions?

Why do i lose internet connection when i remove any usb device from my computer? When i remove usb device from my computer (either safely or not) i lose connection the internet. My wireless adapter still says that there is a connection but when i open any browser i get the standard "this page cannot be displayed" message.

Dsl Internet Speed Problem
My parents just got a new imac(running macosx i think its called). We have a dsl internet connection with a netgear wmr834m router. My parents mainly use this to talk to my nephew and uncle with either ichat or skype. Unfortuately the internet seems to be running a lot slower now than it was before. It takes a lot longer now to load a web page than before. It just kind of happened out of the blue. When my parents try to talk to my uncle on ichat, his audio comes in broken and his video is blocky and distorted. My uncle can view us fine but we can't view him. After a little while ichat even disconnects because it says it hasn't received data within the last 10 seconds. I tried checking the wireless connection. It says we have a 54 mbit/s connection with approximately 87000/53000 packets send/receive (i don't know if that helps at all). My laptop (dell inspiron 6400/win xp) loads pages even slower. It says i have the same connection with only 3000 packets sending and receiving. I just want to know what is going on with my parents internet connection. Hopefully you guys know what is going on and it is an easy fix. Let me know if you need any information i left out.

I'm fixing to start working from home for an internet help desk. I'm trying to figure out if my internet connection will work, and i'm having an argument with my aunt about it. I will be working from my laptop via wireless internet, but have to use a voip phone. The specs call for:
-Broadband internet connection (dsl and cable but not satellite, dial-up and wireless. A wireless network inside the home is allowed for the computer but not for the ip phone)
-Power over ethernet injector or other device capable of powering the inter-tel 8622 ip keyset (which is a low-power 15. 4w ieee 802. 3af device)
-Network device capable of providing internet connection to 2 or more devices via ethernet (dsl modem with router capabilities, router or switch)
We have a box in our window that receives a wireless transmission and it is connected to a power over ethernet injector which then runs into a wireless modem. We have it connected to a wireless modem because the port on the desktop computer is broken so we cannot have it "hard-wired" to it. I need to know that, if i was to get this job, would i need to purchase internet via dsl or cable to use the phone.

Share An Internet / Dsl Connection With Couple Of Computers
I would like to share an internet/dsl connection with a couple of computers. I understand i need an internet router for this? Do i just attach the modem to the router and attach the computers to the router too?
The problem is, i was looking at some routers on ebuyer, and it says its perfect for sharing connection on a network, and i just want to share a connection, not set up a network as such.

I have at&t dsl, and yesterday i replaced my ailing linksys wireless router with a new netgear n150 wireless router. After installing the router, and getting everything (seemingly) running, i tried to access the internet. I was redirected to an at&t "password update" page that told my there was a discrepancy between my network password and the password i was using to access the internet. It sent me through a "self-solve" application that didn't solve anything, and then told me to call tech support. I've called at&t tech support (a few times), and they have told me that they can't troubleshoot third party routers, but they have reset my password so that i can access the internet without using my router, just using the modem. This isn't very helpful, since the majority of internet usage in my house is done wirelessly. After researching this issue and trying many remedies i find myself still ending up on this stupid password update page. The only thing i can guess is that this might have something to do with the "dsl password decoupling" thing that at&t put into effect in june. Is there any help out there for me?

Pc Starts Up With Black Screen And With No Beep
Every time i turn my computer on it starts up but the screens black and there is no beep. I push restart and it loads up fine. I used to have a faulty graphic card and that would beep twice and stay black. This is different. Anybody know what the problem is?

If you change res alot or monitors alot like me, it probably gets annoying moving your icons back everytime. Anyways, heres what i found to fix it. Thought it might come in handy

If I Install Windows 7 What Will I Lose?
If i install new operating system will i lose my programs like flash, itunes etc. And so as my musics, images and what ever is in my doc? I also want to reformat my computer, if i install a new operating system will it be considered as reformatting so i don't have to pay for the labor of the person who will do the job?
I don't really know what is reformatting, all i know is that it will make your computer run faster and it will make brand new in the inside of your computer. I won't be the one to install it because i don't have any experience of installing new os and i watched a vid that i have to get all the necessary programs to make my computer work like before that is why im letting best buy to do the job. Why does my laptop randomly lose connection causing everything else to drop connection? I'm downloading at 4 mps, running a wireless linksys router. Everything else runs fine, but when the laptop comes on it kicks everything else while it connects and once connected it randomly drops, causing everything else to drop with it.

Usb Devices Ports Frequently Lose Power
Several times throughout the day, the devices in my usb ports lose power. My computer is a hp pavilion 734n running windows xp, owned for about 3 years. There are 4 usb ports (2 in the front, 2 in the back) and i only have 2 devices connected: a keyboard (logitech media keyboard elite) and a mouse (logitech mx518 optical) both purchased separately. Sometimes it is just the mouse that goes out temporarily (5-15 seconds) and frequently, and i hear the hardware disconnected/connected sound; other times both go out and i do not hear the hardware sound, and they do not regain power until i reboot my machine. Replugging into different usb ports does not have any affect. Looking at the bottom of my mouse, if i unplug it from the usb port and replug it, i see the light flicker for a fraction of a second before it stays off. When the devices have lost power, the device manager does not indicate any problems, and continues to show devices connected to those ports. I know that it is not my mouse or keyboard at fault; i have tried plugging other usb devices into the ports during these occurrences to no avail. I have also plugged my mouse and keyboard into other machines and they work fine. * I have all drivers updated for usb ports, for mouse and keyboard. I have all the necessary software installed for these devices, and i have performed a windows update. * I have unchecked "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" for all devices and ports. * I have tried uninstalling all usb root hubs in the device manager and rebooting. There may be more i'm forgetting, but i will update my post as necessary. Looking forward to some responses.

Dsl Disconnects Problem
Dsl disconnects numerous times throughout the day? I work in a small office - 2 laptops, 1 desktop. We have a dsl connection. Last october the router fried when the building lost power and we have troubles with the new one ever since. Throughout the day every 15-25 minutes, the network connection goes down for 2-5 minutes. The problem happens mostly on my laptop, however my boss experiences this occasionally. However - when my boss is not here, and has his laptop with him i have no problems
I have a brand new - 2 weeks old - hp windows 7 laptop. He changed the network settings to be dynamic to connect to the 10. 0. 0. X network he claims the router is on. Today i started playing around and saw in the event viewer the following netbt error -
The name "workgroup:1d" could not be registered on the interface with ip address 10. 0. 0. 5. The computer with the ip address 10. 0. 0. 6 did not allow the name to be claimed by this computer. I don't know if this has anything to do with the chronic disconnects. Does anyone have a suggestion as how to resolve the issues i am having?

How do you connect wireless to dsl? How can you connect a wireless computer laptop to a home dsl internet. The dsl is with at&t. Answer:- do you have a wireless modem for you home internet? If so, your computer should be able to detect the network. You should have received directions with your modem about signing on to your wifi for the first time, but if not, your internet provider's tech support department should be able to help you. Call them. If you're talking about doing a wired connection to your laptop, your computer would have to have a place to plug in a network cable. Plug one end of the cable into the computer and the other end into the dsl modem. If you don't have a network plug-in on your laptop, then you won't be able to do that.

Verizon Dsl Connection Dropping
For a while i have had a problem with dsl(verizon). At random times in the day the connection will just drop. It would stay dropped for a few minutes. D-link Dsl-302g Firewall Issue
I have a home network configured with an isp-supplied dlink dsl-302g connected to a netgear websafe router rp114 (for content and keyword filtering), and then a dlink di-624+ wireless router. The netgear rp114 is connected to the dsl-320g wan port, and the di-624+ is connected to one of the netgear’s lan ports. All pcs connected via the di-624+. As per the user manual, i am trying to configure the di-624+ firewall features to stop certain ip addresses from accessing ports, url’s or anything after a certain time, but it does not work. I have tried various combinations from blocking ports, to trying to block certain protocols, to trying to stop all protocols, but nothing blocks the ip address. If i am using a slow computer, and i have a fast dsl connection, would the connection be slow? Does it matter that the computer is slow? If i use a fast computer, will the connection be faster?

Windows Reboots When Connecting To Dsl Modem Via Ethernet
I have a problem with the computer i just built. I got it working and everything. But when i tried simply connecting the lan cable for the dsl the system displayed an error, and rebooted. I have tried installing the latest drivers, disabling the firewall, even un-installing the firewall. Nothing has worked.configurations:-

Nothing Starts Up
When i push the power button on my computer they only think that comes on is the motherboard power indicator and the light on the front of the computer. This happened about a week ago when i was playing dod: source, i smelt buring electronics and my computer died. I also had installed 2gb of ram the day before. I've been told many times that it is the psu. I just bought a new one today, installed it and nothing. Although, the fans do jump when i turn it on. Good sign?

Pc No Longer Starts
I use to have a 754 socket asus board in my computer which i recieved from cyberpower systems. The old agp card it came with was unbearable so i ordered a giga-byte board model ga-k8ne and a pcie xfx 7600gt for the time being. Excited i started taking apart the mess cyberpowersystem had done to this case. Hundreds of useless wires eveywhere. So finally i get the new mother board in, to double check i followed the instructions on all the hook ups. Screw it all back in, plug it in, and the press the power button. Nothing. So i double check everything. Looks good. Try it again. Nothing.could this be a dead board? My only concern was that i have a 20 pin power supply rather then 24, but according to the instructions this shouldn't be a problem since i used the the right set for a 20 pin power supply.could anyone else think of what could be wrong? I have emailed giga-byte but new to them so im unsure how long it'll take for an answer.

Computer Starts But Display Does Not Come
I've got what i believe is a serious issue with my rig. Since this morning my rig does not boot properly. When i hit the power button to computer starts as normal, however the display never "unsleeps". Also my modem has a light that indicates pc activity, and this light remains out. This leads me to believe that there is nothing actually going on in the box, just fans/drives spinning. I have checked all the wire conections (internally, and externally) also all fans are spinning including vid card, and the hard drive is spinning also. The dvd drive will open and shut. On startup the machine still dual boots (as i have read is expected for my chipset) so i believe that the mobo is fine. If there is any othe info you need please ask. Rig in sig (q6600).

Alright, computer was working fine went into the other room when i came back the computer screen was black and the desktop sounded like it was still running. Tried to turn the desktop off, but it wouldn't turn off. The computer screen said it was working fine and i needed to check the cable i hooked it up to my laptop and it works fine. When i unplugged the desktop or turned the switch off in the back the computer shuts down. When i plug it back in or switch the power switch on in the back the computer sounds like its turning on the fans and all the lights start and come on. Only thing that doesn't work is the cd drive doesn't open and nothing comes up on the screen. I have had a problem with the power supply before and replaced it. I thought it was the power supply again and just today replaced the power supply again. I still have the same problem. I've read some other posts about similar problems, but they all seemed to be fixed with power supplies. I have also read that i should be able to get to the bios when the computer starts up, but haven't been able to get anywhere. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Mouse Is Not Found When The System Starts Up
I have an ibm ps/2 optical mouse. Once in while, when the system starts up, the mouse is not found. When i reboot, the problem goes away. I have win xp now, but i had the same problem with win 98. According to the control panel, i have no problem with the driver (from microsoft).

Usually that would flash and the next screen would be detecting my ide card and recognizing the hard drives but it doesnt even get there. The screen that it is stuck on shows the processor speed, how much ram, and that the keyboard, mouse, and the usb legacy is enabled. The bottom says hit f2 to run set up and f12 if you want to boot from network. I can not get into the bios. The most i made it do was get it to say "entering setup" by hitting f2 as soon as the page came up. But it never goes anywhere after that. Frozen! Any advise would be greatly appreciated. I am not a computer wiz, just a long time tinkerer. I have built 2 or 3 in my lifetime and have just basic knowledge.
