Connect a non wireless desktop to wireless network via laptop? I will soon be moving to a new home. This home has a wireless network, but my desktop computer has no wireless adapter, and room is nowhere near the wireless router. I have a 100ft ethernet cable that i currently use to enable internet access on my desktop. Is there a way to use the ethernet cable to enable access to the internet (i don't care about the rest of the network) on my desktop via my laptop's built in wireless card?

How to connect my laptop to a wireless network? I just moved into a new house. And i bought a new laptop. Our internet network thing is wireless. So we dont need any wires or anything(duh). We have two other computers that work perfectly fine and the internet is working. But with my laptop, it has the computer sign at the bottom that says, "network cable unplugged" on the "network connections" window. It is a lan connection. Whatever that is. And the icon on the bottom right corner of the computer screen has a red 'x' on it. On our two computers that are working, the internet is up, and the network thing is fine. Our internet connection is not locked, and i would know the ip address(the password) to it anyways. But the internet connection is open and public, and i know the name of it and everything. But that stuff only matters once you get past the network unplugged crap. I dont know what else to do, ive spent hours working on it.

I have windows vista and ever since i came back from college where i was using wired internet my laptop wont connect to my homes wireless internet. We have netgear and the only way i can use my internet is with an adaptor. It says my settings are correct to set up my wireless internet.

Laptop Wont Connect To Wireless Router
Why wont my laptop connect to me wireless router? I've just got a new d-link wireless router but my laptop will not connect to. On the "connect to a network" screen i can see my wireless router connection and it even has an excellent strength but for some reason my laptop won't connect to the router. I type in my network key & it shows that it is trying to connect but then just returns back to the same screen & isn't connected. I can connect to the router on my mobile but my laptop isn't being let in to the network. Any suggestions as to why and how i can fix this?

When using my laptop at home its always just automatically connected to my house's wireless network, but for the past 4 days it will not connect to anything. If i look up wireless devices to connect to, its not even listed. But if i go into network under the start menu it does have it under my list of what order i want devices to try and connect to first, second etc. I know my mother borrowed it one night but used her verizon card could she have screwed something up? Of course she denies doing anything. Has anyone had this issue? For 2 years this is the first time i cant even find that connection through my laptop.

Wireless Printer Won't Connect To Laptop
We have the brother dcp-770cw wireless printer and it works by connecting the printer to our wireless network, we have recently got a new network provider which is virgin broadband, and we have changed the settings on both laptops and printer, but it still doesn't seem to work. When i installed it again, it said that it had failed to proceed to connect to device, i have uninstalled it and re-installed it several times but still does not seem to work, i am currently using the usb cable, but this isnt why we bought a new printer, we have multiple computers and laptops in the house which we use frequently and it would be more sufficient if it was wireless, any ideas?

Why doesn't my laptop with a wireless usb drive connect to my wifi connection? Since my laptop doesn't have a wireless card, i got a wireless usb for it. The problem is that when it tries to find connections, mine doesn't show up. Even when i place my laptop next to my router, it still wont pick it up. At times it does show up, claims to have a low connection, and tries to connect but it then disappears again and doesn't connect after all. What should i do in this situation? Nothings wrong with the usb and it is compatible with my wifi so whats wrong?

Go to your router settings page by going to 192. 168. 0. 1 for d-link or your router's brand company, and login. Find the wireless security or wireless tab and locate the password box, if you see a password in that box clear it and type in a new password, write down that new password, and hit the save button. Try it from your laptop by typing in that new password and seeing what happens'. If it doesn't work reset your router by holding down the reset button at the back of it with a pin.

Cannot Connect To Wireless Network
I am unable all of a sudden to connect to any wireless network. I know my modem and router are working correctly. Both the provider checked the signals, and my network is detectable from other computers. My gateway laptop won't detect any signal. The wireless button is on. I have tried restarting everything, reinstalling the driver, and even a system restore (all suggestions i found online). I have tried every possible solution i can find and nothing works. If anyone has instructions on what i can do to get this working again i'd appreciate it!

I tried to update the drivers for my d-link wireless g desktop adapter manually. Now, i no longer see a "wireless connection" under "show all connections" i restarted my computer, and was prompted to install the drivers for my "ethernet controller" by inserting the disk. I no longer have the disks. I'm also using:
1) a atheros ar5005g wireless network adapter
2) a intel 82566dc gigabit network connection
Anybody know what i should i do?

I have an aspire one running on windows 7( light). My canon printer is hooked up to my other computer (xp) wirelessly through a dp link modem. When i print wirelessly with it, it says something like, "printing on canonxxx through dplink". I am trying to make the aspire print that way as well. I have downloaded the drivers and can print if i hook up the aspire directly to the canon printer. I've tried the install printer option on the aspire, but it doesn't find any devices nor any printers. I can easily access the internet through the aspire on the dp link modem. I am out of things to try.

I had the option of purchasing a new toshiba laptop with wireless, but crappy specs, or a 2nd hand toshiba (trusted friend, works perfectly) with no wireless, but insanely good specs, and for cheaper. I have a cable broadband connection comming into a linksys wrt54g. I can connect to the router and all of the computers on the network can share files, but not all of them can access the internet. I have noticed that on the ones that can connect, in the 'network connections' window, there is is an 'internet gateway' icon. I'm not to sure why this is. I have set up upnp on the router and all of the computers, i believe this has something to do with it?!?
Is this the reason why the internet is not working on the computers where this 'gateway' does not appear?
I have set all of the ip's manually and also tried it with no wep, but still no internet on some of the computers. Connect Multiple Computers To One Wireless Pc
Can i connect multiple computers to one wireless computer? Ok so i am a computer person and i set up basic networks and a few servers. Now i know i have seen people use one computer to give internet access to another. I don't remember how they did it but i have seen it. Now my situation is a bit more complicated. I have 4 computers that sit in a closet connected to a switch. These all have tv tuners inside of them and i use mythbuntu to dvr television shows when i am unable to watch them. Now i don't use all 4 but i had four so i have them all hooked up. Now my question is can i connect those to the one frontend and be able to have all those computers access the internet through the one wireless connection. I don't want to buy 4 more wireless cards. My front end is windows xp x32.
