Does Logitech G5 Will Not Work On Black Colored Mouse Pad ?

Has anyone here heard of the rumors that this mouse will not work on a black colored mousepad? If this is true, logitech really f'ed up and made a big mistake. A friend is looking to buy the g5 and had heard that it will not work on a black surface. There are even claims that logitech has confirmed this and is simply telling people to go out and buy a blue mousepad.

Mouse Pad For Logitech G5

I'm ordering a logitech g5 and was wondering if i really need a mouse pad for it? I could care less if the mouse pad gives me that slight edge. Will it work ok on my desk (wood)? The reason i don't want a new mouse pad is because i have a very small area for my mouse and i couldn't fit a mouse pad really without cutting it.

Ratpadz Xt Mouse Pad For Logitech G9 Mouse

I have the g9 mouse which is awesome but my current mouse pad seems to not work sometimes. It acts like a ball mouse does when you don't clean it for a long time. It skips and doesn't seem to track till i mess with it. It is rare when it happens but it does happen. The mouse pad i use is just a cheap cloth one i got from fry's for 3 bucks. I was looking into getting a new mouse pad. Specifically the ratpadz xt because i can send it back if i don't like it or it doesn't work the way i am expecting it to. Does anyone have a g9 mouse and a ratpadz xt pad? How does it work? Do you have something else you prefer over the ratpadz xt? I want to get a pad that doesn't skip.

Ergonomic Mouse And Mouse Pad

I need something for my right wrist, which was shot all to *** last year by a temp job that required massive amounts of 10-key data entry and an obscene amount of clicking and dragging of the mouse. I probably have carpal tunnel in the damn thing right now, or at least i am dangerously close. I bought some sort of beanbag to go under my wrist for $10 last year. It hurt my wrist bad, which was the opposite of what it said it would do. I bought a gel mousepad with a gel resting pad for my wrist for $20 last year. It hurt my wrist bad, which was the opposite of what it said it would do. So, obviously i can't search for myself because i always end up buying crap that only makes things worse.

Is It Bad To Use A Mouse Without A Mouse Pad ?

Is it bad to use a mouse without a mouse pad? I have logitech g5 mouse, and i was using it without a mouse pad but i figured out that my computer table has a smooth surface and more space to work with. The g5 glides well too as it has polytetrafluoroethylene feet as well, so it's smooth. So is it ok without a mouse pad?

Mouse Pad

I'm in love with my new mouse pad. It's from a company called cs hyde

http://www.Cshyde.com/c4web/c4ngen04.htm

The pad i bought is the c4 ngen 04. It's paper thin and has a rubbing backing that prevents it from sliding at all. The surface is made of some kind of teflon-ish material. It's smooth as glass and works great with every mouse i've tried. Maybe the best thing are the prices. My 16" x 16" pad cost just $18 shipped.

Durable Mouse Pad - Recommendations

My first highend pad was the razer exact mat that had both speed and control surfaces, paired that pad with a g7 and less than years usage the control surface was smoothed out, giving it a very high friction when moving the mouse in the middle area so i decided to use the speed surface and it didnt last any longer than the control surface. Now im currently using a logitech g9 with a razer goliathus (med size ) control edition and the very same thing is happening, the middle area where i move my mouse around the most has smoothed out the weaving this giving so much friction, im looking at the steel series mousepad, are the made of better or just the very same quality? I would want something that will last atleast 3-4years, now im back to a using a yellow paper.

Mouse Pad Bad Surface - Pointer Darts And Jiggles

My mouse is a logitech mx500 connected via usb with unmodified bandwidth. I'd like to know what everyone is using as a surface, because maybe that's why my optical sensor senses darting, miniscule movement when there is none. I've tried everything from the original foam-and-cloth pad to the smooth plastic with grainy background to a polished wood surface to heavy drawing paper with no luck. That's why i figured it was the sensor itself. Does anybody who really knows optical sensors know what the best surface, color- and texture-wise, as well as whether a uniform or vastly differing pattern is best?

Laptop Inbuilt Synaptics Mouse & External Mouse Fail To Work

On my ~1 year old win xp pro laptop, the inbuilt synaptics mouse and any external mice, ps2 or usb fail to work. I'm having to use it via keystrokes only, so even typing this is hard to get to it. I've had this problem since this morning. I brought it downstairs (its kept upstairs) and turned it on, and when it booted to the welcome screen, the pointer was in the center and my ps2 optical mouse (chic) wasn't responding, although the actual led bit was on. I tried my touchpad (synaptics model) and that also doesn't work. The animated icon in my systray didn't respond to my touches. I have since tried 2 other mice, one ps2 and 1 usb, and i have had no luck. The only way to control my mouse is using mousekeys (ugh) or using a mouse via vnc. I have no hardware devices listed in my mouse hardware list in the control panel. I am not sure if it is a hardware or a software problem, but if i fear the worst, and it's hardware, perhaps my ps2 controller thingy busted? Although it shouldn't take out usb or touchpad either. I hope its more of a software problem, but after rolling back system restore point from last friday (when it definately worked), i have had no luck. I have also reinstalled the drivers for my usb mouse and the driver cd that came with my laptop. I am really stuck, and i won't be able to take it into technical support until monday. I really hope to have this fixed asap. Any help you can give me would be great, and as i use my laptop a lot, i'm really stuffed, everything else seems to be working okay, and i have not noticed any other problems, although there was a process in task manager using about 92% of cpu called sypad or something similar.

Usb Kvm's That Work With Logitech Gaming Mice

I have used an iogear 4-port usb kvm, model gcs124u for many years. It's been a terrific kvm-until recently. My ms intellimouse explorer 3. 0a finally died and, not being able to find another (only 3. 0's available now), i tried a logitech mx510. Once the mx510 was connected to the kvm, any movement of the mouse in the vertical plane would cause the kvm to enter auto-scan mode. It was unusable. I tried a zonet 4-port kvm, and it sucked rocks. At the advice of a friend, i purchased a new iogear gcs1714 kvm. He was using a newer logitech mouse-but as it turns out, it was not an mx510. Once i tried the mx510 on it i discovered it did the same thing. Am i missing something really basic here? Are the logitech mice not really usb-compliant, or is it a matter of the kvm's lacking proper support?

At the moment i have been using an ms intellimouse explorer 4. 0-and hate it. I'd really, really like to switch to an mx510 or mx518, but i don't know which kvm to purchase. I need a pure usb kvm, with 4 ports, and good-to-excellent video quality. Preferably with an onscreendisplay, but that's not a necessity. I also would like to avoid the "passive" models that take 3-4 seconds to reinitialize the devices between systems on switching. Known/tested compatibility with x.org would be a plus. Does anyone have personal experience/recommendations of particular usb kvm's that work with the new logitech gaming mice?

Mouse Pad With ' Wrist Rest ' - Suggestions

I recently got a g7 and was wondering what type of mouse pad i should get to use with it. I would prefer something with a 'wrist rest' and not something that is going to take up my whole desk. The pad i got now is kinda small and the mouse seems to be jumping around when i use it.

Logitech G5 Laser Mouse

So i picked up this logitech g5 laser mouse at a garage sale last year for $1, brought it home and found out that it skipped around when attempting to move the cursor. It jumped left and right when i was moving vertically, and its movement was very sporadic and intermittent. I cleaned it out and the issue persisted. Eventually i decided to install the software / driver: setpoint. It all worked right away after that. The skipping juts went away. That was all on my windows box. Problem is that i want to use this on my os x box, and there is no driver for os x. Also, using overdrive for os x wasn't able to change the jumping around. I read through some logitech kb articles, and they suggested updating the firmware on the mouse. I did that, and the issue persisted. What i am looking for is this:
Is this a common issue? Has anyone seen this issue, with the g5 skipping around on the screen?

Long shot - any suggested solutions for getting this to work on my os x box?

Logitech G5 Mouse Problem

So i've had an original logitech g5 for around 3 years now and it's worked perfectly with multiple computers, but in the last month or so i've had some frustrating problems with it. Just over a month ago i purchased a logitech wave keyboard and installed the setpoint software to use the function keys with xp and vista (i dual-boot and the problems seem to occur with both oses). All was well, but i seem to be getting the following problems:

1) mouse will freeze for a few seconds (usually 5-15 sec. ) While playing a game (any game. Bf2142, cod4, waw, coh, l4d, etc. ). This freezing includes things like the dpi lights being on but the mouse being unresponsive and the dpi lights going off totally (ie. Like the mouse being unplugged). Occasionally when this happens the dpi setting is automatically lowered when the mouse becomes responsive again. 2) mouse will permanently disconnect (no lights) while gaming and during normal usage requiring it to be unplugged and reinserted. 3) mouse will become totally unresponsive (with lights on) while gaming and during normal usage requiring it to be unplugged. 4) dpi lowering itself during normal use (spreadsheets, word procession, browsing, etc. )

I've uninstalled setpoint, but the disconnects happen on average about once per hour during normal use and once every few minutes while gaming. I'm using a non-oc'd c2d e6850 and have 4 gigs of system memory so it's not a resource problem and i've also tried switching the usb ports and using a hub, but that has been unsuccessful. Any help would be appreciated.

Logitech Mx 510 Mouse Problem

I've been having mouse problems for the past three months or so. I had an mx510 mouse (from logitech) and it began to cut out. Eventually, it got so bad that every ten seconds or so, it would cut off. Sometimes my pc (i have win xp) would play the noise it plays when you unplug a device and the light would go out (it's an optical mouse). Sometimes the mouse light would just go out with no sound. Sometimes a tooltip bubble would pop up saying that a device is no longer working. After it cut out, it would sometimes begin to work again on its own-sometimes not. If i unplugged it and replugged it in (it is a usb mouse), it would work again, for a few seconds or a few minutes. So i purchased a new mouse (mx518 from logitech) and it worked pretty well for about a week or so and then started cutting out as well. Thus, i believe the issue is that the usb mouse is not getting enough power (i tried 5 different usb ports-2 on my monitor and three on my computer, and it cuts out on all of them). However, i have what i thought was a good power supply (and its relatively new-like 11 months old: (enermax liberty elt500awt atx12v 500w power supply 90v~265v (auto adjusted) ul, cul, tuv, cb).could the issue be with my motherboard perhaps (abit ab9 pro lga 775 intel p965 express atx intel motherboard)? Any other ideas? I don't want to use the ps2 port or whatever. Is a powered usb port my only option (any suggestions for good powered usb ports?). I tried reinstalling the setpoint driver from logitech as well, but that didn't help.
