Internet Connection Disconnect When Phone Rings

My dsl internet disconnects every time i receive a call and reconnects shortly after the call is finished. I read that i should try adjusting the ghz on my router or try changing the channel to 1, 6, or 11. Where can i do this at. And will changing these settings affect the router's performance when it is connected and working. Also i have checked that all my phones in my house have a filter.

Router Disconnect When Get Phone Call
Why does my router disconnect when i get a phone call? I recently purchased a new cable modem and netgear router. Before this i had a different cable modem and a different netgear router. With the old ones, the phone could ring and the internet would be fine. Now, whenever the phone rings, the connection dies. I dont think it is the wireless signal being interfered with because i lose get disconnected even if i do not answer the phone. We have a coax splitter that splits the cable like and then one goes to a modem for the phone and the other goes to the new modem for the internet, which is then connected to the router. Why i am having this issue?

Constant Internet Disconnect
Well, lately i've noticed some dc's at first i was just playing world of warcraft, and i got a dc (which seriously hardly ever happens to me. It would be that someone pulled the plug of the router out or something). So i thought, meh could be something else. But past 4 days i've noticed constant dc's in 2 games that i play: wow and battlefield: bad company 2. So i contacted my provider and they couldn't really help me. They just told me basic amateur stuff such as: pull the plug out and back in. But, my sister downloads from limewire, she has for a long time, i always told her not to. But still she does. So i was thinking, maybe someone hacked our network because of limewire. Well, i was also playing battlefield today, for a few hours and the dc's usually happen every 25-50 minutes. So as soon as my sister came back home from work, she came home and rest, and just not too long after that, boom! Another dc while i didn't have any before she came home. Thing is, she also owns a blackberry, which i doubt it could be cos i don't think u can download things with malware from that thing. But maybe it could still be so. And i just went to my router-webpage and went to the lan- section. And i noticed all the way down of the page it has a little section with: 'dynamic dhcp client list', under that i get 'hardware address assigned ip hostname ' and i have one with the ip addres and all the stuff that is supposed to go along with it (afraid to tell you guys what it is though). And it says hostname computer. So i think that's just my computer or something, but under that i see another ip address and the whole line thing and the hostname is: your-0ifga41fpw , could that be something bad? Because i don't know if it belongs to me or whatever it is. I also resetted my modem + router. Didn't work. I also wanted to block limewire through my router-webpage but i don't know how to, could you please explain it to me! And oh yes! When i get disconnected its not like i have to wait a while for my internet to get back up again, it's just an instant dc but i can log back in directly after that. I'm fixing to start working from home for an internet help desk. I'm trying to figure out if my internet connection will work, and i'm having an argument with my aunt about it. I will be working from my laptop via wireless internet, but have to use a voip phone. The specs call for:
-Broadband internet connection (dsl and cable but not satellite, dial-up and wireless. A wireless network inside the home is allowed for the computer but not for the ip phone)
-Power over ethernet injector or other device capable of powering the inter-tel 8622 ip keyset (which is a low-power 15. 4w ieee 802. 3af device)
-Network device capable of providing internet connection to 2 or more devices via ethernet (dsl modem with router capabilities, router or switch)
We have a box in our window that receives a wireless transmission and it is connected to a power over ethernet injector which then runs into a wireless modem. We have it connected to a wireless modem because the port on the desktop computer is broken so we cannot have it "hard-wired" to it. I need to know that, if i was to get this job, would i need to purchase internet via dsl or cable to use the phone.

Phone Ringing When Connected To Internet
My phone will not stop ringing every time i connect to the internet, how do i get it to stop? Every time i try and do anything with the internet the phone begins to ring, and it is only with my laptop. Any other laptop and nothing happens. It only just stated about an hour ago, and when i answer the phone nothing happens. I've checked my task manager for any unknown programs running and no other processes happen as soon as the phone starts to ring. I clocked my speed at anywhere between (1. 13kbs) , and for about five minutes a day i can get up to (597. 56kbs that's about a half a megabits per second. I called verizon tech support about getting a new computer. I'm concerned about establishing adsl connection. They told me all i had to do was hookup the computer. The connection is already established. Just gotta go online. That doesn't sound right to me. Can someone help me? My old verizon disk is no good. My internet connection keeps going on and off every hour or so using a realtek wireless adapter. I connect to the internet wirelessly using my realtek rtl8187b wireless 802. 11b/g 54mbps usb 2. 0 network adapter and it seems to somehow just disconnect for no reason. The only temporary solution ive found is to re-install the driver in device manager, it fixes the connection but then goes off again later. It seems to happen when im doing things that require lots of bandwidth like downloading music, videos etc. Is there a solution?

Dropped Internet Connection
I have charter internet, a linksys cm-100 modem, and an airport extreme simultaneous dual band wireless base station. Whether i am playing xbox, watching hulu on my macbook pro, playing an online game on my ipad, or browsing the web on my imac, the internet just randomly stops working, but i don't lose connection to the router and the router doesn't go from a green light to an amber light to signal a problem. If i leave it long enough, it will fix itself, but when i am mid game or video and i lose my connection it really aggravates me. To try and troubleshoot the problem i tried out a linksys wrt54gs v7. 2 to see if that would have similar problems, and it has. The modem lights all stay lit up as usual as if there is no problem there. It cannot be that 3 routers (i bought a new airport extreme when my old one was having this same problem thinking it was that router) have the exact same problem. What is my next troubleshooting step? Plug something straight into the modem and see if it happens?

It is not wireless interference as i have tried turning wireless off and plugging straight into the router via ethernet cable. Internet Connection Keeps Cutting Out
The other day my dad reset the router, and i couldn't connect to the internet. I found out it wasn't just my computer, it was all of them in my house! I have a wired connection, and all of my other computers have a wireless connection, so i know that the problem is nothing to do with the wireless connection. My dad thought it was the router that was the problem, and went out and bought a brand new wireless netgear router. He got it home and managed after a while to get it going. It turned out that we still had the same problem as before, we still didn't have any internet. My dad checked with our neighbors, and they didn't have a problem, so we knew that the line wasn't the problem. Yesterday my dad found a loose connection outside the house on the line connecting to the main line, and this helped alot when he tightened it up. Tonight, the internet crashed twice in a row, and i had to reset it both times in a row. We've been on the phone to bt (our service provider) for along time now, and we've had an expert it to look at everything and he couldn't find anything wrong. Our internet keeps crashing 4-5 times a day. I cannot deal with it doing this, and it will start to drive me mental if i dont sort this out soon! What could be the problem?

The other day my dad reset the router, and i couldn't connect to the internet. I found out it wasn't just my computer, it was all of them in my house! I have a wired connection, and all of my other computers have a wireless connection, so i know that the problem is nothing to do with the wireless connection. My dad thought it was the router that was the problem, and went out and bought a brand new wireless netgear router. He got it home and managed after a while to get it going. Why cant i use internet sharing connection? So, i'm trying to get internet on my xbox through isc, so i plug in an ethernet cable to the xbox and laptop. And i have a wireless internet connection on my pc. So, i right click on the connection and go to properties and enable isc, but i get an error that says "an error occurred while internet connection sharing was being enabled.

How To Speed Up Internet Connection ?
How to speed up my internet connection? I just got a new laptop and for some reason its running extremely slow, like . 5 mbps, this is not normal, my old laptop got much higher then that, i have two sources of internet, one is using my blackberry as a modem and the other is at home, both ring in at . 5 mbps, why? I checked and im only using 50% of my ram at most, i don't have a lot of stuff running, just 3 tabs in google chrome. Is there a setting i can change on my laptop? I assume that is has to do with the laptop.
