Internal Sata Blu Ray Drive Plugged Into Sata

Alright, i'll make this short and sweet. I want to free one of my sata ports up so i can install another hard drive. My motherboard has a built in esata port on the back. Is it as simple as moving my blu ray sata cable to the esata jack on the back? Aesthetics mean nothing, this computer is hidden.

Lg Blu Ray Drive Issues

I had to recently rebuild and reinstall my pc, now on my blu ray drive (lg dvd/rw hd-dvd/br rom) corel windvd 9 isn't picking up any region or even region changes that are present, previously it was set to region 2 (i live in europe) and have 4 changes remaining. The odd blu raytitle i can play but most i can't sue to this so any help would be appreciated. As iv had similar problem with my previous br drive but it didn't loose the remaining changes so it isn't just my present drive.

Internal Sata Drive Shows Up As Removable Drive

My sata storage drive on my p4p800 dlx sys. Started showing up as a removable drive. I noticed the other day that it showed up as a removable usb device. Today the drive disappeared momentarily but then showed up as a usb device again.

Blu-ray Drive With 8x Write Speed And Lightscribe

I am looking for a blu ray burner that has a write speed of at least 8x and supports lightscribe. Does one exist? Oh, and black if possible. I'm getting a pioneer bdr-205, but i need a fast blu-ray lightscribe burner to accompany it.

External Blu-ray Usb Drive On Laptop Connected To Hdtv

At the moment i use my wifes laptop (core2duo 1. 8ghz with 2gb of ddr2) as a media centre for dvd/avi/x264 playback. Its connected to my 40" lcd tv via a vga cable. The laptop uses onboard intel graphics and it handles hi-def x264 files with ease. So i was wondering if an external blu-ray drive would run well on it?

Lg Ggc-h20l Optical Blu Ray Drive Disappears In Vista

I purchased a lg ggc-h20l blu ray/hd dvd combo drive. Running vista ultimate 32 bit w sp2. The thing seemed to work fine but then after a week or so it disappears from my computer and find new hardware sees nothing. I disconnect the drive and plug it back in and once booted up again the drive reappears. It lasted a couple days and same thing again. I thought it a bad cable. Replaced the cable and same thing keeps happening. Anyone seen this? Is my drive bad and should i rma the thing or is there firmware or driver update or something else?

3 Or More Sata Internal Drives

My mb has 2 connectors for sata drives (and 2 for pata). I want to use at least 3 sata internal drives. Is this possible, daisy-chaining one drive to another? Or am i just stuck with 2 only?

Why Is A 2nd Sata Drive Making Both Sata's Unrecognized ?

I just removed my old ide hdd with xp and replaced it with a sata drive and installed vista on it. Everything was fine, until:

I installed a second brand new unformatted sata hdd. With the second drive installed neither of the new drives are recognized and windows won't boot. Is it something obvious i'm missing?

Can I Run Both Ide & Sata Internal Harddrives At Same Time ?

My main hard drive is an sata drive; however, i have an extra internal 200 gig 7200rpm ide drive that i'd like to use as a backup drive. Can i run them both?

I want them both installed but i only want to boot off the sata and simply have the ide as a spare drive; does running both require that you boot from the ide? Is it simply as easy as selecting the boot device in the bios?

Video Card To Watch Blu Ray Movies

I would appreciate if someone could advise me to chose a best video card to watch blu ray movies on full hd lcd tv and to play games on it. I have a x58 intel motherboard with a i920 processor and a 800 watts sli power suply, and also 6mb triple channel. My computer monitor only has 1280 x 1024 resolution and i'm not thinking to expend money change it. I am in doubt between use 2 video cards (cross fired) or to buy a card with 2 processors on it. So i have these questions:

What is best in cost benefit between this two options?

Since my motherboard is ati crossfire ready, is it an advantage to buy ati cards to cross then fired? Would any nvidia cards crossfired works as well?

Is it realy important to have an hdmi out on card, or dvi out (with adaptor) would gonna be fine?
Using s-video output, do i loose video or audio quality (or both)?

Does any card output audio and video togheter? Or, do i have to conect audio from the motherboard to the card (if it is possible) in order it outputs audio?

I know about geforce 9800 gx2 1gb and ati 4800 gx2 2 gb (video cards with two processors) and they are expensive ones (around u$ 480 to u$ 620). So i wonder if it is not a better choice to buy two video cards (less expensive ones) and crossfire then. Would i save some money without losing quality doing that?

If i cross fire two cards (internal way) what should i do to output video to monitor (max. Reolution 1280 x 1024) and at same time hd quality to fulhd lcd. I'm very confused about output connections (crossfired cards) and dual dvi connections at two processor card and the relationship between outputs configuration.

Which Graphics Card Would Support Blu Ray Movies Best ?

Is the ati mobility radeon hd 5470 gpu graphics that much better than the intel graphics media accelerator? I'm trying to decide whether to spend the extra $50. 00 to have the ati graphics card put into my vaio notebook but i'm not sure whether i should just stick with the basic intel hd. Also, i'm planning on having a blu-ray player put in as well. Which graphics card would support blu-ray movies the best?

Sony Vaio Blu Ray Computer Cant Play Dvd

I bought a sony viao blu ray computer, i cant play the blue ray dvd? It said it had to update some key, but it didn't do that. I bought the computer and the blu ray dvd a year ago and didn't find it until now. Should i phone sony or what? I think it said the acca key or something. And i know nothing about any keys. I just set up the computer and that was that. Anyone know what i can do. Does this mean i can't watch any blue ray movies?

Usb To Sata Adapters For Storage Rather Than Buy Sata Cards

I've read here where people need to buy raid cards or pci, sata cards to add more hard drives to their system. Well i am in the same boat, i have 2, 30g vertex in raid, 3, 1. 5tb samsung, and 1 sata dvd drive. All my sata ports are full and a sata card costs. Idk more than 50 bucks i guess. Why can't we just use usb to sata adapters? The speed is relatively the same, at least for just xfer of files and streaming. It can be put internally, and it's cheap. Usb to sata adapter kits usually consist of the usb to sata adapter cable and a separate power-brick for sata to outlet. You can buy just the usb to sata adapter for 1$ from overseas with free shipping. Mount some usb headers internally to plug a few of these cables and run the sata power from your regular power-supply, it can handle.

So whats the thought behind this? It can be relatively hidden(i like clean cases and you can hide most anything) is a cheap solution to an expanding computer case (can't usb do like 126 devices?) And speeds are pretty good. Again this is for internal installation, you would use your power-supply for power, and 1$ per hard drive for the usb to sata adapter. I have a spare 750 and 2x 500 segates lying around and a lian li v2000 (abs clone) i got the space, just don't have the connections! Thoughts?

Can't Boot From Sata Cdrom And Can't Find Sata Hd

Last night i built my dad a new computer, with two sata dvd-drives (but can only connect one with one of my sata cables. Apparently the motherboard manufacturer only likes to include one sata cable. My fault for ordering oem and not checking on the cable quantity. ), A wd sata hard drive and an ecs nforce 570 slit-a motherboard. Anyway, when i boot up with the windows xp cd in the dvd drive, it won't detect the drive and boot from the cd. Ok, i thought i might have that problem (never dealt with sata drives besides hd's), so i just plugged in an ide cdrom, but now it won't find the hd.

I've put raid drivers from ecs on a disk as well as wd sata drives on a disk and hit f6 when prompted in the winxp boot screen. The ecs drivers did nothing for me and the wd drivers said something about it being corrupt or something of the sort (sorry, can't remember exactly. So i've had no luck. I've also tried plugging in the original ide hd from his old computer but it immediately restarts when it should start loading windows. I had to go to sleep because i have work today, so i didn't fiddle around with it too much more than what i've explained above, and that's where i am now so i won't get to try anything for awhile.

I've recently noticed than when i start up windows it shows 250g sata i, but my hardrive is sata ii and should be connecting as it, now i'm 100% positive my hardrive is sata ii. So does anyone know why this could be happening?

Sata 150 Vs. Sata 2

I'm building my new computer, and i was wondering. Western digital makes a 10, 000rpm sata 150 hard drive. Although this is a super fast drive speed, i'm not sure the transfer rates can back it up. Would running 2 sata 150 10, 000rpm drives in raid 0 be faster than 2 sata ii 7, 200rpm.

So i have been surfing around the web trying to find a cd/dvd drive that has tabs on the tray so a disc could stay in place when being loaded vertically or at a angle. If some one could direct me to a company still putting tabs on their trays that would be a huge help to me.

Sata Drive Trouble

I got a diamond maxtor 10 sata drive 250g with 16mb cache. Hooked it up to my msi ms7093 board with no issues and installed xp without a hitch. After that ran some stuff evrything seemed ok. Now i zeroed the drive in prep for copying my partitons from my old seagate drive, after zeroing it it no longers except partitioning or formatting very well. I ran the utlities disc from maxtors website and it spat out a drive error code and then states the drive is in imminent failure save your files while you can type scenerio. This is a refurb so should i rma it or try some other sofware like partition magic to fix it.

Secondary Sata Drive

I am putting in a second hard drive in my pc. A wester digital 40 gb, sata. It was from another pc, so i wiped it (wipedrive pro) and i have it plugged in on my pc. If i open windows explorer i don't see the drive, but if i go into computer management and click on disk management i can see the disk. What do i need to do to get this new hd visible so i can use it?

Sata Cd Rom Drive

Anyone here using a sata cdrom drive in their system here? I got 1 on order, and was hoping you were able to install winxp using it? I did this only to finally get rid of my last ide cable in my case. It will be connected to the intel ich8r controller so no drivers need to be loaded, so i cant foresee a problem, but wanted to ask anyways.

Ghosting To New Sata Drive

I have finally got around to buying a sata hard drive, which i want to use as my main system drive. As my avatar caption suggests, i am lazy and don't like doing work which isn't necessary, and that includes having to install windows on the new drive. I'm kind of happy with the way my xp install is running at the moment too, and have loads of stuff installed, plus little reg tweaks etc which it would take me ages to repeat on a fresh install. I thought i'd just ghost the existing install onto the new drive, as the new drive is detected in windows and has been formatted. Only problem is, when i run ghost (from boot disk) with the sata drive connected, it hangs. So does anyone know a way around this, or a different imaging util which would work?

How To Backup A Sata Drive With An Os On It Out Of Another Pc ?

My cousin has a 250gb wd sata drive from his old comp and he wants me to back-up all the itunes music he paid for. It was in his old comp, but the motherboard blew out on him so he brought the drive over today to see what we can do with it.
