Seagate Barracuda Hdd Led Is Always Red

After i pressed reset , the hd led is still red until loading windows. Sometimes, windows cannot even be loaded, and the led is still red. But some other time, it's ok again, i guess there might have been some serious problem with my hd , since i've already tried the disk tools in windows. I'd appreciated it very much if you could give me a hand with this. My hd is seagate barracuda 7200 rpm , 80gb

Computer Wont Boot - Red Hdd Led
Recently i got a 1. 00ghz celeron (coppermine, 100x10) from a friend for free. I was planning to use it in an older computer of mine, a system with a celeron 433 (mendocino, 66x6. 5). I removed the heatsink, installed the processor, applied thermal grease, replaced the heatsink, closed the system up but when i tried to boot it up, but all i get is the red hdd led, instead of the green "power" led and (older) "turbo" led which both is supposed to be on. The motherboard i tried it on is an asus mew-aml which is supposed to support processors on the 100mhz fsb. I remembered to change the jumpers (because it will only run at 66mhz if i dont). After it refused to boot, i reinstalled the original processor, but i ended up with the same problem. Can anyone tell me what the problem is? I need to know if my motherboard is fried.

All of a sudden the red led which represents hardisk usage stops blinking once it gets past the mother board display and etc (you know at the start where it says bla bla is slave drive and etc. ) So even in dos it doesnt light up. Why would this be.

Linux - How To Flash The Hdd Usage Led ?
Assuming that a hdd in my linux software raid array goes bad (r-5), i am thinking that the easiest way to figure out which drive is /dev/sdx would be to flash the usage led. Does anyone know how to do this?

Seagate Hdd Hardware Id Changes Randomly
I have a seagate 160gb, hardware id st3160023a
Every now and then, the hardware id gets f'd up for no reason, and it's reported as wt714234 $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ , as shown below. The seagate drive volumes don't load, and i can't see or access them under my computer. I have to go to the device mgr and uninstall the drive, reboot, and the hardware id will go back to normal. I can then access the hdd volumes again. What can cause the hdd to be identified under some random $$$$$$$$ name?
What part could possibly be corrupted?

Problems With Seagate Hdd - Cable Test: Write Sector Error
My hd' setup consists of
2x500gb raid0 seagate st3500320as
1x1tb seagate st31000340as
1x500gb western digital wd5000aaks
Now everything worked nicely until one point when my os started to "stutter", as in, the mouse cursor froze for a few seconds and i was unable to do anything, and releasing itself for a second and then froze again. I've scanned the drives with spinrite level 1 scan and it didn't find any problems. Now i've downloaded seatools and ran generic tests, of which all of them passed, though, i was unable to scan the raid array at all. Then i though maybe i should try wd data lifeguard and proceeded to do so. It shows ok for smart status for all drives though when i try to run a diag on any seagat edrive it shows this. Now, my os is on the raid array and boots up and works just fine despite that error. The other 500gb seagate stutters when i try to read or write data to it, preventing me from using the os up until i somehow manage to break the operation or unplug the drive. The other 1tb seagate drive allows me to read or write without problem. I'm confused now. I took both 500gb and 1tb seagate drives and put them into my other computer and ran the same test using wd software and it returned no errors.could my mobo be possibly damaged somehow? I'll confess i did some hot-plugging with my drives. Maybe the bios is slightly corrupted. Any thoughts?

My system specs: gigabyte ga-7vt600-pl (rev 1. 0) chipset: north - via kt600, south - via vt8237, amd athlon xp 2800+ @ 2. 09ghz, 1gb ddr ram, windows xp pro sp2. The chipset is only capable of sata-i and no ncq. I have about $110 can to spend on a new hdd and was going to drop my 2 pata drives in favor of a single sata drive. The drive of interest: 160gb seagate sata-i 7200. 7 (model st3160827as) for about $108can. This drive i beleive came out around last year. A newer drive from seagate: 160gb seagate sata-ii 7200. 9 (model: st3160812as) has been released and is available for about the same price as the 7200. 7 series. What concerns me in deciding between the two drives is the average seek time. According to seagate, the 7200. 9 drive has a seek time of 11ms (other places i read 12ms), whereas the older 7200. 7 series has a time of 8. 5ms. With such a seek time wouldnt this mean the newer 7200. 9 drive is actually slower than the older 7200. 7?
Im unable to determine the density of the drives for the two 160gb models but lets assume the 7200. 9 has a greater denity. Wouldnt this just mean that for standard benchmarks the 7200. 9 would have higher numbers for average data transfer rate but when it comes down to actual usage of the drive where files are created/deleted producing endless fragmentations wouldnt the 7200. 9 drive fall flat of the performance of the older 7200. 7 which has a smaller seek time?
Does anyone know whether the 160gb 7200. 9 drive does in fact have a higher density than the 7200. 7? Besides the sata-ii. 5 interface upgrade what exactly is so special about the newer seagate 160gb 7200. 9 drive?

Red Screen - Gpu Defective ?
Lately when i play c. O. D mw2 after while i get red screen with blue-greenish dots and nothing works then. I cant go back desktop with crtl + alt + esc, to check what could possible be wrong. I have to force shutdown the whole pc and restart to get back to normal. Cant play the game more than 10-15 min before this happens. Is something wrong with my video card maybe? Its nvidia xfx 260 gtx. Is there a software to check gpu health ?

Red Vertical Lines On Monitor
How can i find out whats wrong with my dell monitor? My dell 17' inch flat screen monitor has red vertical lines in the middle of my screen. I'm wondering if its a bad cable connection problem. After i boot-up the system up its not there, but within a few minutes the red lines appear. I've tried it with my other systems and the same thing happens. Just like to know if there is any simple way of transferring all my old stuff on the current drive onto this new drive without too much trouble. Red Faction Guerrilla Game Stutters
So im not sure if this is in the right section but whenever i play red faction guerilla and get into a vehicle and start to driver to a different part of the map ever 3 or so seconds i well get what can best be described as a stutter where the game slows and lags some but my fps stays the same. This problem so far has only happened on this one game and there have been one or two times that this doesn't happen.

Why does my internet disconnect all of a sudden? This happens about once to two times a day the green light on my modem (the internet light) turns red without blinking, and i have to unplug the power cable and then plug it back again. This has never happened before, well it did but not everyday. I recently went wireless (like one month ago) because i bought an ipod, but this began happening about two weeks ago. Also my modem is in an enclosed area. What can i do?

Lg 32cm full high definition television. Flashing red light after shutting down wont power back up? I have only bought a lg full high definition tv. It rarely happens during the day, but at night the light marked internet would turn red, knocking me of the internet. It flashes red for a minute then the light goes off, only to return green moments later. It'll keep turning off and on all night, and it gets really frustrating.

Random Bsod And Red Lines In Mass Effect 2 - 8800gt
Ok so i have had this 8800gt for a while now and had to send it in once to xfx before for random bsods. The problem wasnt as bad when it got back but it was still kinda there. I would get bsods very randomly and sometimes not for weeks. So i just recently got mass effect 2 and loaded it up and played it and it worked fine for a little while (i had a extra stick of ram in there i stole from my wifes comp, but it was causing a lot of bsods so i took it out since i think its bad) and then out of the blue it showed a bunch of red lines on the screen and then the computer shuts off the video and needs to be restarted. So i was wondering if this is a temp issue or what. So i got furmark and have been running it on the extreme gpu burn in or whatever mode its called. My max temps in it are 65 and i havent seen anything higher than that. I have ran memtest for my memory all day before and it never has a problem. Here are my full specs:
Intel e6550
Xfx 8800gt alpha dog
2gb ocz gold ddr2 800
Intel dg33bu motherboard
Antec earthwatts 500w
So i guess my question is, should i just send my card in to xfx for them to take a look at it? My card has a arctic cooler on it with the fans and some custom ram sinks my friend sent me. Connect Red White And Yellow Cable To A Hdmi, Dvi, Vga
Is there an adapter to connect red white and yellow cable to a hdmi, dvi and vga cable? I recently purchased the logitech x-540 speakers and i was wondering if i could hook them up to my monitor in anyway the inputs on the monitor are: vga, dvi and hdmi. Is there an adapter to convert the red, white and yellow xbox 360 cables to either vga, dvi or hdmi?

Emachine - Power Led Only Flashes
Alright, i have an emachine here that will not power on. When power is hooked up to the psu the light around the button just sits and flashes. The psu fan will run but no beeps, hard drive spin up or cpu fan spinning. I have tried multiple psus and i'm guessing that the mobo is dead but what are some of your thoughts?

According to its specifications, it can. Its resolution is 1680 x 1050. So how can it do 1080p?

Sony Bravia Led Tv Better Than Plasma ?
Ya just got sony 52 inch led tv. I played my ps3 game with hdmi full 1080p and it wasn't as bright as my old samsung plasma tv but very clear. Is led good? Or lcd or plasma better? Is led long lasting?

Power Switch Works But No Led
I have stacker 830 and jetway motherboard and the leds don't seem to work. I have read the manual on both case and motherboard. I have tried different variations of putting the pins but nothing! The only thing that works is the power switch. The power button doesn't light up and nor does the activity led. I'm really confused on this issue. It actually really bugs me even though it not a big deal. I don't know what im doing wrong.

Laptop Hdd To Desktop Hdd
I have a toshiba laptop hdd (numbers on the disk are hdd2616 & mk2101man) which as far as i'm aware works. Needless to say i no longer have the laptop. I need to get all the data off and was hoping there was a usb solution. Can anybody help?

Ps2 Blue Light Led Stays Off
About a week ago, i was playing my ps2 and suddenly the controller led turned off. The controller stopped working but the game continued. I turned off and didn't restart my ps2 until about 3 hours later. As i turned it on i noticed that there wasn't any video in my screen. I looked at the ps2 and noticed that the blue led (eject button)wasn't on, only green. The cd tray wont open. Its weird because if u press the eject button the ps2 will still turn on along with the fan but the blue led stays off and cd wont spin.
