Ancient Monitors

I just wondered who else out there is running a plain ancient monitor i am running a compupartner 1992 edition monitor and it weighs about 80 pounds. Lol but i have never been better. Ive looked at brand new crts and well i have to say id stick with this one it has really nice and bright colors there is only a couple downsides and that is resolution if i go over 800x600 its all still bearable but text is kinda blurry. And every once and awhile(especially if i move it) i gotta bang on tht top of it to get it out of its fuzzy mode thing it does. Lol well i guess well see how long this thing can keep going. Lol

So does anyone else have a super old monitor like mine?

Three (3) Monitors

Just wondering i have a dual monitor setup with a single video card. If i wanted to add a tv to watch movies on the tv, can i just add a cheap video card with hdmi and hook up the tv to it? Would that cause any issues? Would it work?

Are Studio Monitors Right For Me ?

My pc speakers are dieing so i'm looking for $200-$300 replacements. I want 2 self-powered speakers that sound good without a separate sub. I'll use them for listening to punk rock music for like 10 hours a day while i work at my desk, no games. Many of the self powered speakers in this range call themselves "studio monitors". I've been led to believe that studio monitors have a specific purpose and that the average consumer shouldn't consider them, is this correct? Do i really have to get a receiver and bookshelf speakers to get better music quality than pc speakers?

Getting Eyefinity With Two Monitors

I've got two monitors, stupid company left one out when they shipped it. I didn't get charged but anyways, i might get a 3rd or i might not. My question is:

How is eyefinity with two monitors? Does it even work? Shouldn't bother with it?
I'll probably just end up getting another monitor anyways though.

Best Setup For Three Monitors

I am looking to do a new build and need some advice on video cards. I want to run three 27-28" monitors on this system, and i would like to be able to run each display independently for work plus i would like to run them together as one large screen for gaming. I have seen several videos of people playing crysis, wow, etc and the three screens looks cool. My question is what would be the best setup for this? I had thought about 3 gtx 260's or 3 gtx 275's, but are three cards really necessary?

Would i be better off with just 2 cards like 2 gtx 285's?

Also, when it comes to memory should i go for a larger card, like the gtx 285 comes in a 1gb or 2gb card?

Three Monitors On Windows 7

What's the best way to finagle having three monitors on windows 7? I'm currently running a gtx260 on a ga-ep45-ud3p. Assuming that i need a second video card, how is gaming performance affected? Does the other gpu just take over when i drag a window between displays? What are the concerns?

Use 3 Monitors With 4350

I tried googling and came up dry, but was wondering can you use 3 monitors on this video card.

It has vga, dvi and hdmi out, was hoping to use all 3 outputs to hook up 3 monitors, i know with older s-video out that worked but guessing cause the tv chip itself controlled the output, and with these the gpu does all the work, so only 2 can be enabled at once. If anyone knows of a hack or anything to get this to work that would be great, just being used for 2d stuff, office use, doesn't take much power at all to do. Resolutions are 1920x1080 and 2 1280x1024, the 1080 one has hdmi input on it.

Who is planning on using 3 monitors with their 5870? If so what size and resolution monitors are you going to use? Is anyone planning on using 3 projectors? I see you can buy the older 1024x768 projectors for around $600.

Switch Between Two Monitors

I have a 9600 pro, one lcd monitor utilizing the dvi jack and a tv that has a dsub input on it. Both are working fine but i am trying to set them up where i can switch between the two without having to unplug one, reset the configuration and plug the other in. They both work in dual screen mode however when i use the tv for online racing (which is the only time i use the tv as a monitor) the game has crashed three times and ccc pops up. Once i unplug the lcd monitor and use the tv by itself there are no problems. There has got to be a way to turn on off and turn the other on. I can disable the secondary but not the primary. I have probably made this as clear as mud.

Using Two Monitors Windows Xp

I have two monitors going for the first time and my question is on the secondary monitor. Should there be a windows task bar? More importantly, can there be a windows task bar?

I may be confusing the terms cloning, mirroring, etc. But as it is now, the two monitors combined actually form an extended desktop of computer #1. I can drag and drop items between the two. Is this as good as it gets? Or can i actually give the second monitor commands to grab a website like cnet and the other monitor grab a website like cookinglight? Again i would need windows to do that, right?

Not sure if it is important:
#1 is samsung flat screen 24" dvi-d single
#2 is sony crt 21" vga to dvi converter
To a nividia geforce pci card second port

Connect 3 Monitors Together

Iis it possible to connect 3 monitors together to create a multi monitor setup? Don't want to spend the $600+ on 3 screen monitor so i was considering building a set up using 3 independent monitors, however i don't know if it is possible to do this. Essentially my plan is to get a ldc monitor with 3 hdmi slots and connect the other 2 monitors i have with single hdmi to it, then connect the main monitor into my computer for multi monitor use, but i don't want to buy the monitor without first knowing if this plan will even work. Anyone has some knowledge on this?

Connecting Two Monitors

I have a laptop and a desk top and would like to have both monitors connected to drag the screens across. Ideally, i would like to work on my desk top and laptop simultaneously as my laptop has a program that i cant move to the desktop, but it is more comfortable using the desktop. I am pretty sure this is not possible, and i feel like the only option is to connect the desktop monitor to my laptop. So can someone provide advice or instruction on how to do this?

Question About Using 3 Monitors And 3 Gpus

I am unsure about how such a setup works:

I have 3 monitors, a 26" lcd, a 42" hdtv both connected on a gtx 280 and a 8400gs connected to a 15" side monitor. Besides applications that let you choose which video card to use, is there any way to determine which video card is the one being used? If something is dragged to the side monitor, will that gpu kick in for that application?

Basically my question is: is it possible to render something using the gtx while outputting to a monitor not directly connected to it?

How To Hook Up 3 Monitors On 2 Different Card ?

Ill keep this short and simple. I have a gtx280(1gb ram) and gtx260(896mb ram) video card. I also have a 24" monitor as my main display and 2-20" monitors as my "wing" displays. I wont be doing any sli so my question is. Do i hook the larger 24" monitor to my more powerful card? Or do i hook up my 2 wing monitors to my more powerful card.

3 Monitors - 1 Video Card

Quick question, i currently have a bfg 8800gt w/ 2x 23" samsung lcd monitors. I'm thinking about getting another 23" monitor and making it a 3-monitor setup but my video card only has 2x dvi ports. Also, my motherboard only has 1x pci 2. 0 x16 slot, so sli isn't an option. What can i do to make this work? Is there an easy solution other than selling my 8800gt and buying a card with more slots?

Can I Run 4 Monitors On 5870 ?

3 Monitors - Eyefinity - Power

I was thinking how great the power savings is on 5800 series cards(in terms of their performance), and people praise them as such, but seeing that if you run eyeinfinity, these monitors produce like 200 watts each, that's 600 watts just for three monitors running eyeinfinity.combine that with the wattage from your system and you are looking at let's say, a whopping 1200 watts.

How Can 5870 Handle 3 Monitors ?

Ok the early reviews of the 5870 are out, to be honest not as fast in the benches as i expected. On average it is just better than the 4870x2, which is still awesome. But then how can this thing do multiple screen gaming so smoothly ?

My main point i am trying to make here is, how can this one new card handle extreme crazy resolutions like 7680x1600, that is 3 - 30" displays. I mean for years we have been foaming at the mouth for a single card can even game at 2560x1600res and still be playable, but now this new card can do that on 3 monitors easier ? Doesn't that mean the card needs to be 300% faster than the best already out there?

A single 4870x2 could never in it's wildest dreams game on 3 high res screens smoothly, i mean 24" + size monitors. Now this new single 5870 comes out, which is faster, but not night and day above the 4870x2, and it can suddenly handle multiple screens all at once with ease, but only being a little faster?

Eyefinity With Different Size Monitors

You have all seen my eyefinity thread i am sure with my 3 - 24" dell2408wfp's, they are 1920x1200res each with a grand total now of 5760x1200 resolution. Was wondering though, for my main/center screen if i can swap in my awesome display i really like my 27" dell 2707wp, it is also the same res as the other monitors of 1920x1200. I have that one on my upstairs family computer, but how would that look in the center with the two sides the 24" displays ? I like the larger 27" look in wow, even though same resolution as the other 24", it seems to be a little nicer ?

My main reason is, it seems after a week of eyefinity gaming, and mainly wow, that i still look at the center/main display by far the most, and the two sides are just there for glancing at once in awhile, and obviously they really help with immersion factor and really bring the game world to life like never before. But how would that work ? I know size and pixel wise would be funked up, but just curious how that would look or even work ?

4 Monitors On A Single 5870

I'm looking to eyefinity 4 monitors (3 would be 1 group and extended on the fourth). My monitors don't have display ports, and so from what i read i would have to buy active adapters for the last two monitors. If i just buy another 5870 would i be able to use the dvi on the second card?

It seems it would be better to go ahead and get another card instead of spending 200$ on adapters. Is there something i'm missing or is this the only way?

4890 For Multi Monitors

I have 3 lcds so i will need two video cards to output to them all. What card should i pair with a 4890? Should i get one in the 4000 series to make sure that the drivers will work fine? I don't want to run crossfire, it gives me nothing but problems since i would have to switch in and out of crossfire mode when i wanted to game.
