On model number ku-0503 keyboard by saitek the volume controls do not work. I went to their site used the instructions on how to fix it however they did not work. I emailed the company 2 days ago but have received no response.

Backlit Keyboard With Volume Knob

I really need a backlit keyboard and yet i also want an integrated volume knob. I am sick of pushing buttons for controlling volume. I need a knob! I've been looking at a lot of backlit keyboards but i can't find one with a volume knob. The saitek ones all have a knob, but that's only for controlling the leds! Any ideas guys? The logisys kb208bk seems to have a volume knob but all the reviews on newegg give it 1/5 eggs! It seems there are no xp drivers? What the heck? Would nt drivers work?

Saitek Eclipse Keyboard Problem When Playing 'gta: Sa' Game

Whenever i play gta: sa (grand theft auto san andreas) i just start running to the left and i cant stop it. It just keeps going, and im not pushing any keys down. With all my other games this doesnt happen though. Ive tried redefining the keyboard controls and all in the game but i can get it to stop.

Keyboard With Volume Control Buttons, Headphone Socket

I'm having a hard time finding a keyboard that meets the following criteria:-

- Volume control buttons, including mute
- Headphone socket
- Very quiet
- Not much more than 60 bucks

Also backlight keys would be a plus, but as i'm having a hard time finding those four, i won't be picky.

Remote To Controls The Mouse On Pc

What i want is a universal remote that works with my normal a/v equipment and can control my pc (including power and mouse specifically)

I have read about mce and the associated remotes, also harmony remotes, and imon. But what i don't know is if any of these, or any others can do what i stated above. Any thoughts?

Saitek Eclipse 2 Problem

I'm thinking of getting one of these, but am concerned about the durability of the keys. Have you noticed the keys smudging or wearing out easily? I've seen some pics of keys where the letters are fading, smudging, smearing, etc. After just a few weeks. Is this typical of saitek? Check the b, u, n keys on this somewhat blurry pic:

Keyboard Keys Do Not Work

For some odd reason my keyboard is not working correctly. Whenever i try to get a capital(hold shift) it does something else. When i push l key its logs out. And more of this stuff, its almost as if i had a multi-functional keyboard from logitech which has these options. But its a keyboard without these features. Does anybody know if there is something in xp which can do this?

Logitech Gaming G11 Vs Saitek Eclipse Ii

I am going to buy a new keyboard because mine is quite old and all gue. So i am considering these 2 products. Logitech gaming g11 and saitek eclipse ii (oh don't suggest me the g15 )

I saw the saitek eclipse 2 vs g15 thread but i would still like to know. Because g15 is quite different from g11

Their price is about the same. The g11 got a nice price cut so now it is even cheaper than saitek eclipse 2. And i can't decided which i should buy. So i would like to hear your opinions which is better.

Good Keyboard For Gaming And Office Work

I do game a bit, but i also do a lot of "office" work. I need a new keyboard, since this one i've got is pretty much shot. At this point, i'm thinking the logitech g15. I played with it at fry's, and really liked the keystroke, although the ergonomic to straight transition will take some time. I really liked the programmable "g" buttons, and the on-the-fly macro stuff. First question: what keyboard do you suggest. Second question: can the "g" buttons be programmed for macros as well? For example, i want to program g1 to be ctrl+shift+del, and i want g2 to be a chain of buttons such as "down, ctrl+v, home, enter. " Can i do all that?

Usb keyboard and mouse work in bios; but once xp pro loads, they're no go, why? The red optical light on the mouse turns off and the keyboard doesn't work. How come? The usb ports are fine, since both work in the bios. Is there something missing from xp drivers?

Monitor, Keyboard And Mouse Does Not Work On Amd Athlon Xp

I am building a computer using an amd athlon xp 2700 cpu. I have been working on this for about a month now, and i am still getting the same result. The monitor does not come on. The lcd light is suppose to be green, it stays yellow. The keyboard doesn't work, along with the mouse. Also i receive no beeps from the motherboard what can be the problem. Keyboard And Mouse Does Not Work When Booting The Rescue Media

My wireless keyboard and mouse does not work with the rescue media. The acronis rescue media boots ok but once the screen appears i'm stuck. I tried disabling usb legacy support in bios with same result. I then added a ps2 keyboard and tried - same result. I then added a ps2 mouse - same result. My motherborad is msi 790gx-g65

Note: motherboard only has one ps2 port and i don't have a splitter thus i could only use either keyboard or mouse

4 gb of memory

Amd phenom iii 720 black processor

Operating system windows 7 rtm 64bit

My wireless mouse and keyboard is microsoft as is the receiver.

Saitek Cyborg Mouse Stutter And Jumps When Use Above 800 Dpi

I have a saitek cyborg mouse and if i use a higher dpi than 800 it jumps and stutters badly if i move it too fast, its like what cheapo optical mice do if you move them too fast as well. All drivers are installed and these stuttering problems are supposed to be over with since it's laser and not optical.

Usb Keyboard Not Work In Boot Menu For Safe Mode

My usb keyboards works fine in bios, but i can't do anything at all when i want to boot into safe mode? For example, i've been having hardware issues, different story, and what happened is i rebooted while windows was loading. Then next boot, it gives me window which says "i'm sorry but windows did not start properly last time. " Or something like that. And to make it short, it gives you option to boot into safe mode, start normally, start with last known working configuration. And has a countdown timer. But i can't move the highlight selection thingy at all! I just helplessly wait for the counter to count down 30 secs and boot normally. I'm sooo *** off about this; this is so f*ing retarded. Why does it do that? Shouldn't windows or bios (not sure which) be smarter than that?

Oh yeah, i have winxp pro, btw.

Razer Lycosa Keyboard Don't Work After Its Drivers Installed

I just got this new razer lycosa keyboard and when i first plugged it in, the lights on the keyboard worked fine. I installed the drivers for it and now the lights don't work at all. I deleted the drivers for it and even went as far as to do a system restore and still the keyboard is not working the way it should. I even took it to a freinds house and used it there and it worked just fine. Any ideas of what i might do doing wrong ?

Plugged Mouse In Wrong Slot, Now Keyboard Doesn't Work

I recently built a new computer and got a new keyboard, ms natural ergonomic keyboard 4000 (usb). I installed everything and the keyboard was working fine for a couple of weeks. I was using my mouse on my old computer then when hooking it back to my new computer accidently plugged it into the ps2 keyboard slot instead of the mouse. When i turned on the computer neither was working, so i then noticed the problem. Tried to switch them and now i can't get my keyboard to work again. I have tryed uninstalling, rebooting, reinstalling the keyboard for a few hours. Trying everything i can think of. If i plug my old keyboard into the ps2 keyboard slot and boot up it works, but can't get the new one to work through usb. I've tryed different usb slots. I'm out of ideas. Does anyone know anything that i could try?

Dell Inspiron Laptop Keyboard Letters Don't Work

Dell inspiron laptop keyboard letters don't work after cleaning, how can i fix this? I removed the keyboard to clean the keys. The space bar and a couple letter keys came apart but i figured out how to put them together again and hooked onto the keyboard again. These keys though, don't work at all, and they also sound different from, their quieter. I'm not sure if this would make any difference but i cleaned the keyboard with clorox wipes. Also before replacing a couple keys, i needed to stick the end of a screwdriver underneath the keyboard membrane in order to position the round rubber thing. I'm just unsure if it was something that i did and should not have or if it's simply needing to re- replace the keys.

Compaq Presario C700 Keyboard Keys Don't Work After Restart

My compaq presario c700 has recently developed an annoying fault. If the laptop shuts down when not used, when you restart it, the keyboard often (but not always) has many keys that don't work. It is the same keys each time that don't work. No combination of shift, fn, alt, control, windows, or alt seem to help. The computer will still function normally if i used the "on-screen keyboard" or if i plug in a usb external keyboard. After using the "on-screen keyboard" or the usb keyboard for about 5 or 10 minutes, the internal keyboard then works again. It only fails on a restart. It never fails once the machine is going. Any suggestions? This is a stock standard machine with vista.

Optical Out Volume Control

I just installed an ht omega striker sound card and have it attached optical out to my home theater system. Windows volume no longer affects the volume level of my sound system. If i turn it all the way up or down, the level is the same. Have i forfeited my ability to control volume with the mce remote, or am i missing something simple? I've looked elsewhere for an answer to this, but have had no luck.

Chkdsk Volume Is Dirty

Since last night (because of improper shut down), everytime i get onto the computer it runs the chkdsk. While it does it says. "Checking file system on c: the type of the file system is ntfs the volume is dirty". It also says a bunch of other things but most of which disappears before i can read it. Once i am on i get an error message stating. "The file or directory c: is corrupt and unreadable. Please run the chkdsk utility". Ok, so i click onto start and then onto run and type in chkdsk c: /f to run chkdsk and fix any system errors. It runs. I get a prompt that says something about the disk being locked and asks if i want to run the chkdsk the next time i restart.

I say yes and restart my pc. Again the pc runs the chkdsk and again it says. "Checking file system on c: the type of the file system is ntfs the volume is dirty". And once i am on i still get the same error message. "The file or directory c: is corrupt and unreadable. Please run the chkdsk utility". I also ran chkdsk c: /r which took longer as it was a 5 step process. It did not help either. I ran adaware, disk clean-up, defrag. Nothing helps. I search the help section and found an article regarding detecting and repairing disk errors. It told me to open my computer, click properties, under error checking click check now. Then select scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors. I did all this, went through the whole process and it did not help either.

I do not know what else to do. I have googled for info and followed as much as i could. The only thing i have read about and did not try is the recovery thing. I don't know how to and do not feel safe fiddling without some sort of guidance. Can you help? If you can, please remember to talk in itty bitty steps as i am like a kindergartner when it comes to this. All of the items i did up until this point were tips that i found on the microsoft website and other sites.

Volume Bitmap Errors

My disk is showing up volume bitmap errors when i run chkdsk. It says to fix these errors run chkdsk /f which i do. It then runs the scan upon startup etc. However it does not fix the problem. I have already tried doing a windows format to try and correct the problem. However, this did not work. The drive was previously ext3 so perhaps it needs a low level format (writing 0's) to fix this. What is this volume bitmap for and can i fix it without a low level?

Dynamic Volume Creation

Ok. I'll try to be as clear as possible with this one. Dell optiplex 740 (athlon xp 5600+, 80gb c: drive, 2x 40gb (to be raid 0), dvd burner) would anyone know how to make my desktop computer think it's a desktop (not a laptop) and allow me to setup dynamic disks?

The os is installed using a corporate windows xp image, not the corporate xp cd. I am trying to setup an office file share to speed up the deployment of our xp image to new pc's in the office (our primary server for this is offsite and rather slow copying the 4gb image each time). I setup the new computer, and attempted to setup the 2x 40gbs into a dynamic raid 0 set. Our image seems to have been mastered on a laptop, since there is no option to convert a drive to dynamic. I have ruled out hardware, as i swapped the c: drive and installed windows via a regular dell xp disc. I converted the drives to dynamic with no issue. I swapped the c: back to our image xp, and now the only option given is to convert the disks back to basic disks. I cannot allow a regular xp computer on our network for security reasons, as the image contains security patches and anti virus, otherwise i would just do that. The optiplex 740 does not have hardware raid, and buying a card is not an option for our office.

Low Volume When Hooked To Two Computers

I have a pc and a brand new mac mini (oct 2009 model). The speakers i am using are logitech z-2300 2. 1. My setup is as follows:

I have 3. 5mm male-to-male cables going from both the pc soundcard and the mac mini audio-out to a y cable with two 3. 5mm female ends and one 3. 5mm male end. The 3. 5mm male end goes to a 3. 5mm female/female connector. The other end of this connector has the 3. 5mm male jack from my speakers hooked to it. With this setup and my old mac mini it allowed me to have audio from both my pc and mac go to one set of 2. 1 speaker system. I could play audio from both sources and the volume was normal. It worked great. However, with this new mac whenever the 3. 5mm jack is hooked into the mac, the audio coming from my pc is extremely low volume. As soon as i unplug the 3. 5mm cable from the mac, the audio coming from my pc returns to a normal volume level. I have no idea why this changed when the only different element in the setup was the new mac mini. How should i go about solving this problem? Should i be using a different setup? Is there a way to boost the volume? I'm pretty clueless about audio, so any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Spdif Optical - No More Fixed Volume ?

I use spdif optical out from my x-fi titanium into an external dac. In the past, the volume has always been fixed (meaning that adjusting the software volume in windows does nothing). I use the volume control on my headphone amp. I just noticed that now the windows 7 software volume control is no longer fixed. It is adjusting my volume! What is going on here? I thought spdif optical out was always fixed volume. I don't want software messing with my signal. Yeah yeah, i can leave it at 100%, but some apps adjust the volume (like online flash movies, etc. ). Anyone know whats up?
