System Failure ( Restart )

Built this and it has never run without having a system failure resulting in a restart. I tested the old power supply, and the 5v connector failed. So, i bought a new one and figured that this would be the fix to the issue. And no. Any suggestions on what i might look for next? I'm lost.

System Failure, Monitor Does Not Show Anything

I returned from vacation. Turned computer on, fans came on, green light came on, i could hear the hard drive spin up and sound normal, but that's it. No beep, no yellow light, the monitor doesn't think anything is running, the keyboard is dead, num lock won't illuminate, optical mouse is out. Can anyone give me an idea? I'm not very computer literate ( as i'm sure you're aware after reading the earlier part of my post) the computer is a 3 year old hp.

Ink Delivery System Failure

Hp multi function printer c7130? Was working ok, printed a good a4 picture then a pop up said " ink delivery system failure , there was a fault code . I have followed various suggestions to reset chips etc but nothing has worked so far. This printer cost plenty so i wonder if by chance someone may have had the same fault.

Hp Photosmart Ink System Failure

Hp photosmart 8250. Upon replacing the cartridge the screen said "ink system failure" & won't work. Tech couldn't fix. The tech and i did all the "usual" things to fix the printer but to no avail. I did use a hp compatible ink, same brand as i'd used before without trouble. I replaced it promptly with hp product. They gave me an error code of oxc18a0001

Disk Boot Failure. Insert System Disk And Press Enter

Just built my first pc and configured the bios etc and get the following message:

Boot from atapi cd-rom
Disk boot failure. Insert system disk and press enter. I think this means that i have to insert a boot disk for the cd-rom drive into the floppy disk drive, to install the drivers for it. Can someone confirm this? Also my cd drive is a philips 52x32x52 cd-rw which came with no floppy disks for installation at all, so i am not sure how i can setup the cd drive without an operating system etc.

Disk Boot Failure, Insert System Disk And Press Enter

I'm just usng my computer as a normal computer user would use one's computer. Surfing the web, instant messaging programs and the like, then my main harddrive makes a low click sound, then a slightly higher click sound after about half a second, then windows stops responding, then less than a second after my system achieves full lockup. So i'm like, ok, that's weird, and i reboot. I boot into bios and make sure it's not set to turn off the harddrives for any reason, and when i see that it isn't and there are no other wonky settings, i boot windows (xp pro sp2 .net) into safemode and just to make sure, start a virus scan, while that's working i look and make sure drive indexing is turned off (it isnf't on the main drive, so i turn it off) and that power save things are set to always on, and that's all ok, so while i'm waiting for the virus scan to finish, it does the click thing again, locks up, so i'm like *** and i reboot again, this time it gets to the ascii loading bar before the animated startup screen before the login prompt, and it does the click thing and stops, so i reboot again, and this time it gets to "verifying dmi pool data. " After detecting the drives and whatnot, does the click thing and stops right there, then after a minute or so i see "disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter". So i sit there getting madder by the second and press enter, then it gives me a blank screen and that message again, and that's where it sits right now as i type this (but once i post i'll turn it off)

So i was running a virus scan, avg free edition, and it scanned the registry and the mbr for viruses and didn't find any, so i dunno, this either is a virus that i don't have a definition for, or some random progressive hardware failure, or my computer decided to crap out on me randomly.

Insert System Disk And Press Enter, Disk Boot Failure

Looking for suggestions for what to do next. I've built my first from scratch computer using:

New
Gigabyte ga-8i915p duo-a motherboard
P4 630 3ghz 800mhz fsb 2mb l2 cache processor
Maxtor 200gb eide ultra ata/133 hard drive
2x crucial 1gb ddrii 533 memory sticks

From my old system
Cd/rw
Dvd rom

It seems to post ok, but i then get the message

"Disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter"

I've tried the new copy of windows xp bought for this build, and also the disks that came with the board and the hard drive. Each time the same message comes up. I've searched through all the documentation that came with everything, the net, and some books, nothing i try works. Can anybody help please?

Restart Problem

I have been having a serious problem with my computer lately. When i am playing games for a while the computer will just suddenly restart. It has happened even with a fresh format and install on windows 2000 and windows xp pro. I set windows 2000 to show me the error code with the bsod and it came up with this. Driver_irql_not_less_or_equal
Stop 0x000000d1
(0xf0000000, 0x00000002, 0x00000001, 0x85460e4f)

Now i don't know if this is the problem it's been having because it has only done it once and im waiting for it to happen again to verify it. But how would i go about fixing this?

Also my -12v reading is at something like -167. Something. Is this correct? My +12v is fine and running at exactly +12v. I don't know if this is related or not.

Xp Computer Keeps On Restart

I have windows xp installed on my home pc. With intel 945 motherboard, p 4 1. 5 ghz. When i start my computer, it restarts automatically which is very unexpected. After 2-3 times of automatic restarts the computer works fine. The frequency of the restarts is also variable. Sometimes 1-2 times and sometimes 4-5 times. I cannot figure out if this is the conflict in the drivers/ ports etc or is this a windows problem. ?

I have replaced my motherboard some time back. But since then it worked fine. But now it started giving this problem.

Computer Will Shut Down And Restart Itself

Lately my computer will shut down and restart itself. It will do this at anytime so it doesn't appear to be related to any one task i'm doing. Every time it happens the screen will go black and the computer restarts and once i'm back on the desktop i always get the same error message:

Windows cannot find 'http://oca.microsoft.com/reredir.aspx?Sid=10&bucket=oxa_cmaudio%2b11777&sta te=1&id=4acd04b3-30b1-4321-87cd-adda4910be9b&lcid=1033&os=5. 1. 2600. 2. 00010300. 2. 0. ' make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the start button, and then click search. I haven't a clue what any of this means, except the name "cmaudio" has me thinking my soundcard (c-media cmi8738/c3dx pci card) may be the culprit. The error message also says to make sure i typed the name correctly, but i wasn't typing anything when these errors occured. I have a windows xp home system, p4p800 mobo, intel p4 2. 4ghz cpu, 2 g of kingston pc3200 ram. I run chkdsk and defrag often. I also keep my virus program up to date and scan frequently, along with my two spam programs, spybot and ad-aware. I have everest ultimte edition running in the background so i can always keep an eye on my pc temps and the highest any of my devices ever run is thirty-two degrees. I'm posting here to get some feedback on what could be causing this. I'm thinking i should get a new sound card because of the "cmaudio" in the error message. That card is ancient anyway. I'm going to check the ram and possibly the hds for bad sectors, but i'm pretty sure it's neither of those (both the ram and the hds are brand new).

Computer Started To Restart Itself

First, i had a amd epox 8rda+ mobo. The problem started with the red voltage values at the startup of the computer: sometimes voltage values(i don't remember which yet) are colored in red computer wouldn't start. When there were no red's everything were working fine. And some days it happened that when i powered the computer there was only a black screen . I tested all the hardware an finally found it was the mobo. I took it to a repair shop and they told me the problem is the capacitors near the cpu: they swelled and needed to be replaced. But after the replacement the repairman told me the chip of mobo was damaged and can only work with 1100 hz freq. , But my cpu is 1700xp, so it didn't work with me. With that i bought a new mobo foxconn 600a01 and plugged my hdd without having formatted into the mobo. I used the computer a while(about 1-2 days), and then the computer started to restart itself anytime(while playing games, surfing, or just doing nothing). After the restart it was saying "the system has recovered from a serious error" and giving this error details:

Bccode: 1000007e
Bcp1: c0000005
Bcp2: f7d62e1d
Bcp3: f49f0a44
Bcp4: f49f0740
Os. Ver: 5_1_2600
S_p: 2_0
Product: 256_1

I turned the automatic restart off but it didn't work. After a while screen started to go off when windowsxp started and then restart itself. And now: the screen turnes into black while loading xplogo on the blcak screen, sometimes 1-2 min after the logon. I was able to copy 2 error codes fragmentarily in the event viewer:

1. ) Sspd dis. Service entered the running state
2. ) Error code 100000ea
Par?1 : 815b8638
Par?2 : 81a57970
Par?3 : f9e65cb4
Par?4 : 00001

Sorry i forgot what was writn in par?X field and so put a question mark there. I should add one of the self_restarts i heard beeps but i dont remember how their codes were. I fear that mobo went down again but please dont tell me this. By the way here are my hardware:

* Amd1700xp
* 160gb hdd
* 2 optic driver
* Geforce mx440 display adapter
* 2 sticks of ram:1) 256mbddr400 2)256mbddr333
* 300watt frisby power supply

Cannot Install Os, Strange Looping Restart

Upon install and startup it just turned itself off. Never a good sign -_- after a bit i worked out the chip was overheating due me putting too much thermal grease on. Though the temps went down the problem still remained, i still thought temps were a bit high (50c idle) and lo! And behold i was an idiot and had plugged the cpu fan into the wrong plug and it wasn't spinning fast enough >_<
With that fixed it did get further before it started restarting again. The symptoms are, i turn it on. Bios works fine everything is seen. It then starts to load the os (either vista 64 or xp pro) and at some stage it just restarts itself. Sometimes this happens right at the start, sometimes i get into the gui. But its never made it through. I took it into the pc repair shop today as i was at my wits end, they replaced the ram and gfxcard and took out the other misc pci cards and tried. Tried a different chip, thought it might be the bios, flashed it, tried again, and so on and so on with varying combos of my stuff and/or their stuff. And always it restarts itself. Tomorrow i'm going in to check up and see if they found anything, but has anyone ever come across a problem like this one?

They are pretty sure its not the ram, happens with their test ram. They are pretty sure its not the gfxcard it happens with their test card. The most likely candidates i was told were the chip and the mobo but it seemed to happen with their chip as well (but this may need further testing. )

The bios flash did help the mobo recognise the chip "better" but didnt solve the problem. Everything displays fine in the bios, temps are now normal, and everything is seen. When i left they were trying a new hdd in it.

Computer Hang After Click Restart

I just got finished reassembling my computer after doing an overhaul and it is doing some weird stuff. I thought it might be the fact that i have 8gb of memory installed and i am still running 32bit vista ultimate (i am about to install windows 7 64bit ultimate)

The computer would hang after i clicked restart. The computer would go to the shutdown screen and then it would go blank, but the computer would not reboot. The odd thing is that it would shutdown just fine, but it would not restart. I just installed an update that it wanted to do at shutdown and it seems to be restarting now. However, now it is giving me a cpu freq. Of 1. 33ghz and fsb of 1333. I have not changed any cpu settings in the bios and intel speed step is disabled. It should be at 2. 66ghz for a q9450, which is what it was when it would not restart on its own. Any ideas?

Overhaul of asus rampage formula motherboard x48
1) installed intel x-25m 160gb g2 drive (secondary drive right now & empty)
2) installed 4gb of ram (brings total to 8gb installed)
3) installed heatsink backplate for ocz vendetta 2
4) unmounted and remounted processor
5) installed new psu corsair hx750 professional series

Computer Shuts Off At Random, Then Restart

My computer suddenly started shutting off, then, after a second or two, restarting - as if i turned it off and on. There are no error messages in the log files. In the bios, i set it not to restart, but it does. The only thing that shows up in bios error logs is keyboard not connected - but i have a saitek that i connected months ago. (Long enough for the darn key caps to start wearing off. ) The keyboard shows up in the device manager. The problem became evident when i tried to upgrade webroot spyware - and the update just took off and hogged 97% of my system resources, forcing me to shut it down and remove it. I've cleaned everything in the tower. Removed and replaced the conductivity jell on the heat sink for the chip. Removed the side of the tower and added a desk fan to blow into it. Bios reports temps running around 158 to 160 degrees. All fans are functional. Have run spybot s&d to check for problems. Have cleaned the registry with 3 different registry cleaners. Used advanced windows care v2 to repair problems. I use aol landline, not dsl or cable, as an isp.system shuts down and restarts at short intervals when i first turn it on in the morning. The intervals later grow longer, ranging between 30 minutes and 8 hours. Sometimes, even that interval shortens. Please don't tell me it's my motherboard! Btw, system is 4 years old. Built specifically with a huge power supply at a reputable computer store. It's not off the shelf.configuration: windows xp internet explorer 7. 0

How To Fix Win Xp In A Restart Loop?

So my computer is going in a restart loop now. I don't know if i corrupted the hard drive or not, but now when i turn on the computer, a message saying "windows did not start up successfully" and when i press "start windows normally", the windows xp splash screen will appear for about 3 seconds, then restarts again. I also tried going into safe mode, but that's even worse. The splash screen won't even appear and the computer will restart. I'm now using a bootable cd (ubcd4win) and trying to see if i can use any tools there to fix it, but i don't think that will work. I tried accessing c: from the boot cd, but it saids "c:/ is corrupted and unreadable", so i think i corrupted c drive somehow. I can't use chkdsk on the cd because it can't find c drive! I'm thinking about using the recovery system that came with the computer. I already tried the windows recovery console, but it can't find c:/, it can only find another drive without my windows installation.

Intermittent Boot Failure

The problem is intermittently the system powers up but fails to even attempt to boot - no bios beeps, and bios and vid. Bios screens not displayed. Drives spin up ok. Have tried different case and psu (in fact system is currently in borrowed case). The system only ever fails to boot if the system is cold-started - the system warm-reboots ok. Tried different ram, had m/b replaced once, new m/b been returned to dealer where they (supposedly) found no problems when tested with other kit and with my psu, but system not been professionaly tested as a whole. Have also tried different graphics card, removing modem and sound card, running system from hdd only, but still having problems. All connectors are firmly seated. There are no config options in bios or jumpers for ram and the cpu is set up correctly and automatically. Have used 375 and 300w psus with system (300w seemed better then system started playing up again)
Nvidia geforce4 mx440 agp8x graphics card (8x is supported by m/b), and have also tried geforce2 4x. The os may be irrelevant, but i've tried winxppro, win2000, winnt4, mandrake linux 9 and a linux distro that boots from cd (knoppix). All drivers installed ok. Won't even bother with win9x/me because i hate it.

Random Power Failure

Lately, my pc has been randomly shutting off. I thought it might be a software issue, so i went to reformat my hd when it powered off. Here i am with a box w/ no os that keeps shutting off every 5 minutes. Every other computer in my house works fine, so it isn't an electricity issue. I also replaced the power supply, which cost me $60. What else could possible be causing theis odd phenomenon, because i would like my pc back.

Bios Flash Failure

This acer aspire m5100 desktop was having freezing issues, so i decided to update the bios to see if that would fix things. The flash was going well, until the very end where the status bar showed red, indicating failure to write at those sections. The computer rebooted and failed to post. Fans spin and everything, but nothing shows up on the monitor and no beeping from the motherboard. What do you guys think? Game over? Or is there some way to revive the computer?
