Modem Internet Light Turns Red

This happens about once to two times a day the green light on my modem (the internet light) turns red without blinking, and i have to unplug the power cable and then plug it back again. This has never happened before, well it did but not everyday. I recently went wireless (like one month ago) because i bought an ipod, but this began happening about two weeks ago. Also my modem is in an enclosed area. What can i do?

Lg Television Flashing Red Light After Shutting Down
Lg 32cm full high definition television. Flashing red light after shutting down wont power back up? I have only bought a lg full high definition tv. Its only been in operation for around 3 hours and it suddenly turned off and wont start back up. Every time i turn it back on it powers up for about 10 seconds then turns off again. The monitor light keeps flashing red after its shut down.

Why does my router constantly disconnect at night? I have a 2wire router and my internet provider is at&t. It rarely happens during the day, but at night the light marked internet would turn red, knocking me of the internet. It flashes red for a minute then the light goes off, only to return green moments later. It'll keep turning off and on all night, and it gets really frustrating.

Light On Keyboard Turns Off And Everything Stops Working
I took my computer out to clean it and air the dust out of it with an air-can the other day, and i went to plug everything back in and everything is working fine besides the keyboard & mouse, and seemingly everything that uses the usb port. I'd think that the usb ports are fried, but this is the strange part. I am able to use the keyboard to enter the bios screen, and when windows xp is booting up, about mid-way on the boot splash screen, the light on the keyboard turns off and everything stops working. What is causing this? I think i've tried everything, restoring factory defaults on bios, trying completely new mouses and keyboards, etc.

Internet Modem Keeps Breaking
My home internet is provided by sbc yahoo!, Its a dsl line at 3 mbps down with 512kbps up. I frequently download large files, in the past the modem kept breaking down until i limited the download speed to 90 kb/sec. I believe the chips inside the modem kept getting too hot and it would shut itself down to protect itself?
My guess proved right when i opened up the modem and measured the temp of large each chip with a infrared probe. I added a big north-bridge heatsink (thermaltake key 3 spirit) to the hottest chip and a smaller passive heat-sink to the next hottest component. Now i can download up to 180 kb/sec, which is still less than the full 300 kb/sec or 3mbps. I'm wondering does anyone else experience this problem, and what should i do from here? I already have the highest thermal capacity heatsinks on the modem, without spending more than a few bucks or really going out of my way what can i do to get that full 300 kb/sec download speed from my isp?

Modem Access Internet On Its Own When Idle
I'm still using a (cough) 56k modem to access the internet, but recently it seems to have a mind of its own. My browsing/downloading speed is not affected, but when the computer is idle, it sends and recieves large amounts of data on its own. For example, when i just connected, i left it idle for 10 minutes. In that time, it recieved over 6mb of data and sent 2. 5mb. My initial thoughts were spyware or something similar, but i don't know how to investigate that further. Any ideas?

At&t Dsl Modem And Netgear Router Cant Connect To Internet
I have at&t dsl, and yesterday i replaced my ailing linksys wireless router with a new netgear n150 wireless router. After installing the router, and getting everything (seemingly) running, i tried to access the internet. I was redirected to an at&t "password update" page that told my there was a discrepancy between my network password and the password i was using to access the internet. It sent me through a "self-solve" application that didn't solve anything, and then told me to call tech support. I've called at&t tech support (a few times), and they have told me that they can't troubleshoot third party routers, but they have reset my password so that i can access the internet without using my router, just using the modem. This isn't very helpful, since the majority of internet usage in my house is done wirelessly. After researching this issue and trying many remedies i find myself still ending up on this stupid password update page. The only thing i can guess is that this might have something to do with the "dsl password decoupling" thing that at&t put into effect in june. Is there any help out there for me?

Answer:- if they are actually both modems you don't connect them together at all. Modems take in signals from the isp and convert them to digital that you computer understands. Since it only takes one to do that why would you even attempt to connect two modems?
If you mean you have an at&t gateway/router (which has a modem inside) then that is a different question. However, there is also no way to use that router in a cable system as the modem installed in it is for dsl not cable. There are routers which will connect to a cable modem or a dsl modem and allow multiple computer use. Just get the correct router if that is what you want or need.

Red Screen - Gpu Defective ?
Lately when i play c. O. D mw2 after while i get red screen with blue-greenish dots and nothing works then. I cant go back desktop with crtl + alt + esc, to check what could possible be wrong. I have to force shutdown the whole pc and restart to get back to normal. Cant play the game more than 10-15 min before this happens. Is something wrong with my video card maybe? Its nvidia xfx 260 gtx. Is there a software to check gpu health ?

How can i find out whats wrong with my dell monitor? My dell 17' inch flat screen monitor has red vertical lines in the middle of my screen. I'm wondering if its a bad cable connection problem. After i boot-up the system up its not there, but within a few minutes the red lines appear. I've tried it with my other systems and the same thing happens. I purchases the monitor directly from dell in 2006w my dell dimension e310 system.could it be that the monitor is wore out, or could it be just a bad cable connection? The cable i have attached to the monitor came with the monitor. If i purchase another one of the same kind would that clear out the red lines on the monitor? I bought yesterday another motherboard p4s800 and it is okey. It works. By the way i just installed new motherboard instead of old one. On case battery shape under reset button is blinking as red. Can it be older motherboard's battery empty or related?Wyh my new motherboard is blinking red buttery shape?

Red Faction Guerrilla Game Stutters
So im not sure if this is in the right section but whenever i play red faction guerilla and get into a vehicle and start to driver to a different part of the map ever 3 or so seconds i well get what can best be described as a stutter where the game slows and lags some but my fps stays the same. This problem so far has only happened on this one game and there have been one or two times that this doesn't happen.

Seagate Barracuda Hdd Led Is Always Red
Recently my computer often stops functioning while i was operating, and the hd led is always red , it does not flicker. After i pressed reset , the hd led is still red until loading windows. Sometimes, windows cannot even be loaded, and the led is still red. But some other time, it's ok again, i guess there might have been some serious problem with my hd , since i've already tried the disk tools in windows. Computer Wont Boot - Red Hdd Led
Recently i got a 1. 00ghz celeron (coppermine, 100x10) from a friend for free. I was planning to use it in an older computer of mine, a system with a celeron 433 (mendocino, 66x6. 5). I removed the heatsink, installed the processor, applied thermal grease, replaced the heatsink, closed the system up but when i tried to boot it up, but all i get is the red hdd led, instead of the green "power" led and (older) "turbo" led which both is supposed to be on. The motherboard i tried it on is an asus mew-aml which is supposed to support processors on the 100mhz fsb. I remembered to change the jumpers (because it will only run at 66mhz if i dont). After it refused to boot, i reinstalled the original processor, but i ended up with the same problem. Can anyone tell me what the problem is? I need to know if my motherboard is fried.

Random Bsod And Red Lines In Mass Effect 2 - 8800gt
Ok so i have had this 8800gt for a while now and had to send it in once to xfx before for random bsods. The problem wasnt as bad when it got back but it was still kinda there. I would get bsods very randomly and sometimes not for weeks. So i just recently got mass effect 2 and loaded it up and played it and it worked fine for a little while (i had a extra stick of ram in there i stole from my wifes comp, but it was causing a lot of bsods so i took it out since i think its bad) and then out of the blue it showed a bunch of red lines on the screen and then the computer shuts off the video and needs to be restarted. So i was wondering if this is a temp issue or what. So i got furmark and have been running it on the extreme gpu burn in or whatever mode its called. My max temps in it are 65 and i havent seen anything higher than that. I have ran memtest for my memory all day before and it never has a problem. Here are my full specs:
Intel e6550
Xfx 8800gt alpha dog
2gb ocz gold ddr2 800
Intel dg33bu motherboard
Antec earthwatts 500w
So i guess my question is, should i just send my card in to xfx for them to take a look at it? My card has a arctic cooler on it with the fans and some custom ram sinks my friend sent me. All of a sudden the red led which represents hardisk usage stops blinking once it gets past the mother board display and etc (you know at the start where it says bla bla is slave drive and etc. ) So even in dos it doesnt light up. Why would this be.

Monitor Turns Itself Off
I connect using a dvi connectors into my video card. Bassicaly what happens is my left monitor has zero problems its great. My 2nd one seems to turn itself off on it's own. I don't have to jiggle anything to fix this, just turn the monitor back on with the button, but this is getting very annoying. (Especially since the power button isn't easy to press, may not be able to tell by the link, but the button is behind the casing of the monitor, so you can't feel for the button you have to put your finger in the exact right spot on the case and push in. No clue who ever thought this was a good idea, i would have bought a different monitor if i knew about this before hand) i made 3 hypothesis:
1) a cable is loose (not the case, i ensured everything is connected well, and it still happens)
2) the power button is loose, and small vibrations on the desk are triggering it to go off. (Don't think this is the case because my monitor has never turned itself on)
I'm still under the manufacturer warranty, though i'm afraid to send it in because 1- i have to go that time with 1 monitor, which would be impossible for me. And 2- i hate getting refurbished stuff. Espeically when i pay money for something new. I'm trying to figure out what else i might look for that would cause my monitor to turn itself off.

I connect using a dvi connectors into my video card. Bassicaly what happens is my left monitor has zero problems its great. My 2nd one seems to turn itself off on it's own. I don't have to jiggle anything to fix this, just turn the monitor back on with the button, but this is getting very annoying. (Especially since the power button isn't easy to press, may not be able to tell by the link, but the button is behind the casing of the monitor, so you can't feel for the button you have to put your finger in the exact right spot on the case and push in. No clue who ever thought this was a good idea, i would have bought a different monitor if i knew about this before hand) i made 3 hypothesis:
1) a cable is loose (not the case, i ensured everything is connected well, and it still happens)
2) the power button is loose, and small vibrations on the desk are triggering it to go off. (Don't think this is the case because my monitor has never turned itself on)

Pc Turns On But No Display
My pc was working fine for the past year, then last week it started crashing. I had 2 video cards running in sli and as it turned out my second video card slot on the mobo was fried. For the last week it was running fine with just one video card. Then a few days ago i turn on my pc and i get no display and no beeps. All fans, lights, hdd, cd drives turn on and there is power to the mobo, but i get no beeps and no display. I checked the monitor with another pc and with different cables and that was not the problem. I have 2 sticks of ram which i swapped out a few different times to see if 1 of them was bad and that didnt seem to be the issue either. I bought a new psu thinking that was the issue, but when i booted up with the new psu last night it still was not working (still had the same issue. Everything turns on but no display and no beeps). I tried both of my video cards in the 1 slot that works and still nothing. I havnt been able to try my video cards on another machine, but im guess they arent the problem. The only thing i can think of now is that its either the mobo or the cpu. Any ideas? I dont want to buy any new gear without knowing whats up.

System Turns Itself On
Alright, i've got a weird question and i'm sure the answer is right in front of me. Sometimes when i turn my system off (for bed, or peace and quiet, or whatever), it will turn itself on after a seemingly random amount of time. Would this be a software/hardware issue, or possible a flaky power issue (i doubt this, as it does it in my dorm, but also our house which is new - so the electrical system should be solid)? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Laptop Turns Itself On
I just recently purchase a dell inspiron 9400 with vista. Occasionally, after shutting down the laptop (vista quick [normal] shutdown), it will turn itself back on. This has happened about eight times in the month that i have had it, and occurs between 5 seconds and 3 minutes of shutting down the machine. The lan pxe boot is disabled. Any ideas?

Computer Turns On Only For A Second
My computer turns on for like 2 seconds, all the fans are spinning, however nothing is on the screen and then it turns off, also the computer restarts itself to follow this pattern again and again. The only way to make it stop is to turn off the psu switch or unplug the computer from the power source. What is the problem? Is it my ram? Is it my power supply?
Help would be very much appreciated.

Close My Cd Drive And My Pc Turns Off
When i close my liteon cd drive by pc shuts off, instantly, no warnings. No nothing. To get it back on i have to take out the power cable plug it back in then it comes on. After its shut itself down, if i press the power button nothing happens. It only happens with this drive, i have another drive and that is always fine. It shuts down whether there is a cd in the drive or not. Whats going , is it my drive, my hdd, over heating?
