Ambidextrous Mouse For Large Hands
Replies: 6 | Post Date: 07-23-2009, 07:14 PM | User: Veritas7 | Forums: hardforum.comDoes anyone know of any ambidextrous wireless mice that fit comfortably with large hands? I can't really find one that fits both, either it's a good fit for large hands, but only for righties, vice versa. Normally i'd go lefty (since i'm ambidextrous) but my girlfriend is righty so i'm leaning towards one that can handle both lefties and righties decently.

Mouse Comfort - Large Hands Vs. Small Hands
I broke it down into the two major companies, logitech and razer. Also a separate category for logitech g9, since it doesn't follow with the rest of logitech's ergonomic designs. I don't have a store around here to go to and try out mice for comfort levels, so i thought posting a poll would be the easiest way to get feedback. I know there is a thread on this already, but there wasn't a poll, so scrolling through all 250+ comments is not efficient. Also, there are options to vote whether you have a small hand or large hand so that factor is accounted for.

Mouse For Big Hands And Long Fingers
I'm a logitech man, but at this point, i'm willing to look at other options. I used to be a very competitive gamer, and i'm looking to start getting back into that. I used an mx518 for a long time, and really liked it. I tried out a logitech g5 (version 1), and couldn't stand that it only had a back button rather than a back and forward (as i use those for leaning in fps games), so i stuck with my mx518. Once the g9 came out, i took the plunge, and aside from it being slightly uncomfortable (as i have big hands and long fingers), i liked it overall. I liked the "wide load" grip for the extra mouse foot, thumb rest, and the grippy feeling. The coating came off, so i threw it out, and have been using the other grip. Now, the mouse wheel kinda catches at one point every revolution, so the hyper scroll wheel really doesn't work, and that's driving me nuts, not to mention it skipping a mouse wheel click while gaming. Should i try to get a hold of a new g9 or grab a g5 v2 (the blue version, which has a back and forward button)? Or is there another mouse that would suit me nicely?

Large Size Mouse
I just bought the performance mx and its not as comfortable as i would have liked. The mx 1100 seems to be bigger and would probably be better for my hand. But i dont like the dpi switch near the left click button. To people who own or have used the 1100 extensively: do you accidentally click on the dpi often? And i dont think i would like the revolution because of the thumb scroll thingy getting in my way. Or is there another large size mouse from microsoft or whoever else.

Wireless Keyboard For Big Hands
I have big hands, my fingers are kind of thick as well. The keyboard i'm using now isn't as comfortable as my previous keyboard, which is discontinued, otherwise i would've purchased another one. For me, wireless is the way to go. I don't like dealing with a "rat's nest". I just don't have the patience for it. I'm a pc gamer and wireless keyboards and mice have worked just fine for me. I realize other more serious gamers are more picky in terms of response time, but i'm not. I'm also probably one of the only people on the planet that habitually use the keys home, end, page up, page down and scroll lock. I've noticed that on newer wireless keyboards, the layout of these keys have been redesigned and there isn't even a scroll lock key in some cases. I cannot get use to the new design and i cannot deal with the absence of the scroll lock key. I use it for gaming. Even though i mention gaming, this really isn't a gaming question. What i'm looking for, is input on keyboards people use, particularly those with bigger hands. I cannot stand those ergonomic keyboards. I've tried them. They don't feel right. Does anyone know of any keyboard that might suit my needs? Again, the layout of home, end, page up/down is important to me.

Hands Free Suction Cup Headphones
So i was thinking, are there any kind of headphones out there where it fits around your ear, apply pressure to get the suction function to activate, and then just control volume via finger movements or button presses?
I would find it really useful when playing volleyball, whether alone or with a group. I would be able to use one ear for normal hearing and the other ear (comfortably) for listening to music. Or perhaps both ears (device like this could have a bluetooth link connectivity so that a person could use two of these if they so desired). I play a little rough and hard, so good [power-]suction would be necessary that it not fall off. Edit: or perhaps instead of using a suction method, it could come with two cups linked together by a brace. You would place the cups over both ears, then snap the brace on both cups for tightness (kind of like those snap-braces on a lot of toolboxes). The braces would go behind the head. And somehow it would be as such where the headphones wouldn't too easily fall off or rip off from the back of your head.

Why Are Hard Drives Large ?
Why are hard drives so unnecessarily large? I'm the admin for an office of 15 computers and one server. Each station needs *at most* 1 gig of hard drive space, as all important/large docs are stored on the server (as called for by security protocols). One of the hard drives fried this morning, and the cheapest i can find is 50$, 150 gb. *** Soon we won't even need hard drives, it'll all be cloud computing. Is there any place to buy cheap (i mean like cheap, like $10) 1gb hard drives? Same logic applies to 64 bit processors, we don't need em to run openoffice! I just had to watch a client of mine buy this $300 media comp (as it was the cheapest at bestbuy), 4 gb ram, 64bit processor, windows 7 (so far a pain to get networked) just to use quickbooks. Lol any other it guys feeling my frustration?

Trying To Share Printer On A Large Network
My friend and i are roommates here at ucf. He has a printer and i dont. We agreed on sharing it but the problem is we do not want anyone else to access it. I came up with the bright idea of making a new workgroup then sharing it. He made one and then shared the printer. I then joined the workgroup with no problem. Now, when i click view workgroup computers it says that it cannot be accessed. When he does it, it works fine. I then tried to connect to his ip address but again nothing. I just finished trying sharing a folder and made him copy a shortcut to printer but when i double click it, it says the printer is unreachable and probably offline.

What Would You Do With A Pair Of Large Sas Drives ?
I have a pair of 300gb cheetahs i was going to use for a vm server but have changed directions and no longer need them. I mean if worse comes to worse i could just sacrifice them on ebay but i would prefer to use them from something useful. But i'm out of ideas. - I don't see any use for them in a whs environment
- I have raided ssds in my main rig
- They have been up for sale for a few weeks with interest or bites
- Maybe build an exchange server? No real need for it though.

Large Wireless Network Project
I am trying to implement a large wireless network in one of my clients condo buildings. The building is 4 stories high and is about half a city block wide. I have tried just using consumer wireless routers like linksys and boosters and what not but it seems like there should be a better solution. There are still cold spots all through the build and the placement of the hardware is getting tricky. If anybody has any experience with this kinda thing can you let me know a better way to set this kinda thing up.

Okay so i just bought a new 250gb hard drive for the computer i built and when i have it in as my only hd and pop in the the windows installation disk it tells me that the max it can partition is 131gb which is the same problem i had when i bought a 160 gb in the past but i didn't care back then. But now i do. I would really really like to not have to partition it like my cousin 100 100 50 i hate partitioning i read that updating bios could fix this but i did and still no luck. Can't Do Anything Else When Transfer A Large File Using Usb
So i've been running x64 for the better part of a year now on the rig in my specs. Within the last 3 months or so if i transfer a large file to any one of my various brand external hard drives i can't really do anything else on my computer, everything kinda just slows down and the usb transfer takes precedence. The strange part is my cpu usage is only like 5-15% on a single core while this is going on. I know i should most likely nuke my os install and start over but i'm curious as to what caused this. In my many years of pc tech support i have not ran into this particular issue. I have seen similar caused from crappy via usb controllers but not this exact problem. Ideas?

Computer Freezes And Unfreezes During Large Installs
I have windows 7, and never had this problem with windows xp. Basically everything else seems to run normal, games and software already installed run fine. The problem is only when i'm installing software or like when a large download is finished and it copies to my hard drive. I just installed fallout3, and it would freeze at points during install and then unfreeze. The freezing would take maybe a few minutes before it will unfreeze and copy at normal speed. Every time it freezes it will always unfreeze and continue. Seems like there is no data corruption or anything, the programs always run fine after install. I'm trying to troubleshoot this problem. What do you think i should look at?

Computer Freeze When Saving Large Size Files
I have problems with my computer, when i save a large item it freezes. (Large size files / items noramly take 3+ hours to save. Have been doing alot of video editing recently and when it comes it save the overall work (render it), the whole computer freezes, managed to copy the file though the home network and do it on my bro's pc, but i can't save to dvd as it's doing the same. Thought it could be power supply, or processor over heating but if i shut down and restart it, it still has the same problems but it will freeze in a different point, getting to be a very annoying problem.

Carrying A Large Case To A Lan Party, Suggestions
As the title says i have a rather large (check that, friggin huge) case that i need to transport to a lan this coming weekend. It's a thermaltake armor (the one in my sig). Does anyone know of a carry strap or case system that will fit this behemoth? I looked at the xbags ctssl and it looks like it would work, but it's sold out everywhere. I also looked at the sunbeam strap system, but i am not sure about the dimesions on that one. Any help would be appreicated.

Large Hard Drive Transfers Bring The System To A Crawl
I've got all the proper/latest drivers for the system installed. Using pata drives, dma on, high performance mode on. What could it be, an awful pata controller on the cheap motherboard? The single core a64 3800+ didn't behave like this when large file copy operations were underway.

Laptop Inbuilt Synaptics Mouse & External Mouse Fail To Work
On my ~1 year old win xp pro laptop, the inbuilt synaptics mouse and any external mice, ps2 or usb fail to work. I'm having to use it via keystrokes only, so even typing this is hard to get to it. I've had this problem since this morning. I brought it downstairs (its kept upstairs) and turned it on, and when it booted to the welcome screen, the pointer was in the center and my ps2 optical mouse (chic) wasn't responding, although the actual led bit was on. I tried my touchpad (synaptics model) and that also doesn't work. The animated icon in my systray didn't respond to my touches. I have since tried 2 other mice, one ps2 and 1 usb, and i have had no luck. The only way to control my mouse is using mousekeys (ugh) or using a mouse via vnc. I have no hardware devices listed in my mouse hardware list in the control panel. I am not sure if it is a hardware or a software problem, but if i fear the worst, and it's hardware, perhaps my ps2 controller thingy busted? Although it shouldn't take out usb or touchpad either. I hope its more of a software problem, but after rolling back system restore point from last friday (when it definately worked), i have had no luck. I have also reinstalled the drivers for my usb mouse and the driver cd that came with my laptop. I am really stuck, and i won't be able to take it into technical support until monday. I really hope to have this fixed asap. Any help you can give me would be great, and as i use my laptop a lot, i'm really stuffed, everything else seems to be working okay, and i have not noticed any other problems, although there was a process in task manager using about 92% of cpu called sypad or something similar.

Message: No Mouse Is Connected - Mouse Stop Working
Every 30 minutes or so of using my pc causes my mouse to stop working. When this happens everything else continues to work. Also on occasions when the mouse is connected normally a message appears on start up telling me that no mouse is connected. These problems have occured with 3 different mice and with mice connected to both usb and the normal mouse port. Therefore i think the problem is my computer rather that dodgy mice.

Ms Sidewinder Mouse's 3 Sets Of Different Mouse Feet
Has anyone tried the different sets of mouse feet that come with the sidewinder mouse? It suppose to come with different textures of teflon. But i haven't been able to get an info on the attributes of each set of mouse feet which they call glide. It seems to me that the white set seem to glide the easiest out of the 3 sets offered. Even when the white set of feet are dirty they do seem to glide easier or glide similar when cleaned.

Ratpadz Xt Mouse Pad For Logitech G9 Mouse
I have the g9 mouse which is awesome but my current mouse pad seems to not work sometimes. It acts like a ball mouse does when you don't clean it for a long time. It skips and doesn't seem to track till i mess with it. It is rare when it happens but it does happen. The mouse pad i use is just a cheap cloth one i got from fry's for 3 bucks. I was looking into getting a new mouse pad. Specifically the ratpadz xt because i can send it back if i don't like it or it doesn't work the way i am expecting it to. Does anyone have a g9 mouse and a ratpadz xt pad? How does it work? Do you have something else you prefer over the ratpadz xt? I want to get a pad that doesn't skip.

Ergonomic Mouse And Mouse Pad
I need something for my right wrist, which was shot all to *** last year by a temp job that required massive amounts of 10-key data entry and an obscene amount of clicking and dragging of the mouse. I probably have carpal tunnel in the damn thing right now, or at least i am dangerously close. I bought some sort of beanbag to go under my wrist for $10 last year. It hurt my wrist bad, which was the opposite of what it said it would do. I bought a gel mousepad with a gel resting pad for my wrist for $20 last year. It hurt my wrist bad, which was the opposite of what it said it would do. So, obviously i can't search for myself because i always end up buying crap that only makes things worse.

Is It Bad To Use A Mouse Without A Mouse Pad ?
Is it bad to use a mouse without a mouse pad? I have logitech g5 mouse, and i was using it without a mouse pad but i figured out that my computer table has a smooth surface and more space to work with. The g5 glides well too as it has polytetrafluoroethylene feet as well, so it's smooth. So is it ok without a mouse pad?

G7 Vs G5 Mouse
So i have had a cheap mouse (spent like $5 on it) and it is finally giving away - lasted me 5 years. The scroll button is not working that great anymore and since i use this with my laptop as well i dropped it a few times and it is a little screwed up. So i am looking to get either of these mice. The price difference is about $20-25. So whats the difference between these for gaming? If there really isn't any i will just get the g5.
