Keyboards With Huge / Big Letters On The Keys Pad

My mom has a *** of a time seeing both the fonts on the screen and the keyboard. I've been looking at some keyboards with huge / big letters on the keys pad and some programs available, just wondering if anyone had any good ideas i can do to try and help her out. She is freaking addicted to sweeps or something rather and whenever her pc goes bad or she has a hard time seeing something my bro has to come home just to get her right so its annoying as ***.

Why Is The Number Pad On Keyboards On The Right Hand Side ?

Just curious, being that most of the world's population is right handed, why would the number pad on a keyboard be on the right hand side? This puts the mouse further away and cause you to reach more, ie causing more strain. If the number pad was on the left side, then surely right handers would have to reach less and therefore cause less strain on the arms, wrist and hand. Better yet, you can have a detachable number pad! Any thoughts?

Activboard Keyboard - Keys Type Wrong Letters / Characters

I purchased a 1-media 4806 (packardbell) with a packard bell activboard keyboard. I have re-installed my os many times with no problems in the past, however i recenatly installed a new hd, installed win me and then upgraded that to win xp pro, the keyboard config now seems to have changed my settings. Whenever i try to get the @ sign i end up with " sign, essentially having to press shift and 2 to get my @ sign, also there are other keys not in place, my # key is under shift and 3, but they are in the correct place on the keyboard, any ideas on how to correct this? Its a pain in the arse when you work from home and have to keep editing documents!

How To Use Multimedial Keys On Keyboards ?

Stupid 'ms industrial slim office wireless desktop' messes up with screen output and dvi stops working. It messes up because it (checked via vga connection) displays stuff in a osd way [on top of everything else]. I get no picture via dvi once it's application is started - so i uninstalled the application/drivers. Tried to turn off the application but keep the drivers, but then no multimedia keys are working at all. After removal of drivers + application only about a half of 35 multimedia keys work. Those that don't work generate no scan codes. I checked on windows and linux. So is there a way to use them? Say some generic driver that doesn't have osd thing - or some registry editing, or whatever. Maybe even driver from another manufacturer. I was hopping to use those extra keys for autohotkeys or similar to map for various key sequences that i use often in programming, etc. I also tried to find those scan codes with spy+, but same thing - no scan code detected. So i think they are filtered out by windows or whatever. Will try to install the drivers/application again (and switch to vga) and check out scan codes then. With drivers + application there are no scan codes for those keys that don't work without application. Somewhere i read that windows turns raw scan codes into virtual ones, and ditches those that it doesn't recognise. So perhaps it's filtering those unknown? But then again how does that application/driver receives them?

Quiet Mechanical, No Numeric Pad, Full Size Keys Keyboard

Help me find this mythical creature! (And, if at all possible, keep the cost under $100). My razer tarantula is just too big for what currently passes for my "desk" and has a bunch of features i never, ever use. I've literally never programmed a single one of the shortcut keys, and i've had the thing a little less than a year. It's time to replace it. I need to keep full size keys - there is a reason i bought my 12" hp over a 9" or 10" netbook that'd do everything i do computation-wise with it for 1/3rd the cost. I'd like this keyboard to be very compact, as in no unnecessary blank spaces beyond those to preserve layout and no huge bezel, but i am not willing to sacrifice key size to get there. Really, if you took a standard full keyboard like the razer lycosa and cut the numeric pad and wrist-rest off then halved the size of the bezel, that'd be my ideal layout. I realize that may not be possible, of course. I also feel the tarantula is a bit "mushy" for lack of a better word, though please don't confuse this with wanting more force necessary to push keys; i don't. I would like to switch to mechanical key switches on my next board, however, partly in hopes of reducing stress on my hands (i type a lot, that's not going to change any time soon) and partly to increase the keyboard's longevity. That said, i also really, really don't want the thing to be loud. At all. Clicky-clicky noises are bad, and i am afraid this could prove a problem. Anything louder than your standard membrane or laptop type keyboard will drive me nuts, and fast. If anything i would like it to be quieter than most. From what i understand the nearest switch to what i would want is the cherry "black" type, so i've used that as a place to start. I've found a few potential options in the $50-100 range, but they are all either too big, too small (smaller keys, very strange layout), or in some other way severely flawed. So, does the collective consciousness of the mighty [h] know my mind here? Any suggestions? If you recommend a given model, please include how / where to purchase it, as i've found several japanese manufactured boards i really like the look of that i either can't find for sale, or that importers want $200+ for.

Everything On Screen Is Huge

I have looked everywhere to try and find an answer to this problem, and nothing is working. I have right-clicked my desktop and gone to personalize and checked the resolution in display settings. Right now my resolution is set to 1024x786, and i have tried to change the resolution, but if i make it 1280x720 or 1280x800 everything becomes super tiny and out of proportion, there is no middle ground, it's either way too large and wide, or way too small and narrow. Also, i have tried changing the font and icon sizes, but the font is already set on its smallest size, and i can make the icons smaller, but everything else is still huge. This all happened after i connected my laptop to a projector and gave a powerpoint presentation in class on thursday, it is now saturday night/sunday morning. I have a compaq presario f767cl notebook pc with a 15" screen and windows vista.

Huge Mouse Cursor In World Of Warcraft

Since upgrading to a 5870 card, whenever i play wow my mouse cursor increases in size to about double the normal size. If i turn off hardware cursor in wow it goes back to normal. Funny thing is that when i quit to windows 7 it still stays larger than normal. I tried installing wow from scratch. The second that i put the wotlk disk in and started the installer the cursor in windows 7 increased in size just like it did in the game itself !

Has anyone else found this happening to them ? It's bloody annoying me.

Mouse Jerk / Skip A Huge Amount Of Space

A few recent games i have been playing my mouse has been acting a tad weird. However, here is the problem. It doesn't do it in every game. For instance, in fallout 3 on any game menu on the screen if i move my mouse slowly, it eventually will skip a huge amount of space and appear in a dif corner. Even with a single fluid motion. Arma2: the mouse seems to jerk back and forth and fight me moving it, but only in the in game menus. Wow: the mouse is almost always okay until im using the mouse to aim where to go and it will do a huge jerk like fallout 3 sending me into a crazy spin. All other games like killingfloor, source based games etc are all unaffected, no games open mouse works beautifully. This issue appeared in windows 7 then i went back to windows vista but the issue remained. Things ive checked: i tried 3 other mice, but received same issue across all 3. Doesn't seem to be gpu related since i swapped 8800gt for my 4890 recently and issue remains. Anyone got any ideas?

Hp Officejet Create Huge Files When Scanning Document

Why does my hp officejet create such huge files when scanning a document? I have an hp officejet 6210, which works fine as a printer and copier. But when scanning even text documents without graphics it creates huge tif or pdf files. I use the lowest resolution and it still comes out 3 mb for one page of text. My other complaint is that it is a slow and clumsy scanner, takes a long time and the software is unduly complicated.

Big Mouse

I'm looking to get a new mouse as the one i have seems to be cuasing my fingers to ache after a while of using it, i think this is because of the fact that it is too small. What is a good mouse out there that is also quite big? I'm not looking for a gaming mouse but it needs to be of the same sort of genre if you get me, price range is about £20 or usd$40. Also if the mouse comes with a keyboard that would be a great bonus as my keyboard is also getting a bit used, and my hands hurt whilst typing although i think this is because i type funnily.

Big Mice

Gone though half a dozen mice and two trackballs. Still not as happy as my original microsoft optical wheel mouse which is creme colored to show you how long ago i had it. This partly due to some carpel tunnel that i've been keeping at bay. And partly due to just finding a comfortable mouse. Anyway, i think what i miss is enough size in the mouse to help support, atleast partially, my palm. No palm support encourages me to move the mouse mostly with my wrist instead of my arm and wrist. I end up using the base of my palm as a pivot point. Now there are some fat mice out there. They have a lot of side to side width. They don't really have what i'm looking for. I need a mouse that is long front to back as well as high towards the back. I'm using a logitech mx518 right now and if it was about 3/4" to an 1" longer it would do what i want. Any suggestions?

Wireless Keyboard For Big Hands

I have big hands, my fingers are kind of thick as well. The keyboard i'm using now isn't as comfortable as my previous keyboard, which is discontinued, otherwise i would've purchased another one. For me, wireless is the way to go. I don't like dealing with a "rat's nest". I just don't have the patience for it. I'm a pc gamer and wireless keyboards and mice have worked just fine for me. I realize other more serious gamers are more picky in terms of response time, but i'm not. I'm also probably one of the only people on the planet that habitually use the keys home, end, page up, page down and scroll lock. I've noticed that on newer wireless keyboards, the layout of these keys have been redesigned and there isn't even a scroll lock key in some cases. I cannot get use to the new design and i cannot deal with the absence of the scroll lock key. I use it for gaming. Even though i mention gaming, this really isn't a gaming question. What i'm looking for, is input on keyboards people use, particularly those with bigger hands. I cannot stand those ergonomic keyboards. I've tried them. They don't feel right. Does anyone know of any keyboard that might suit my needs? Again, the layout of home, end, page up/down is important to me.

Drive Letters

I had two hd's on my pc and remove the "d" drive the other day. Since i removed this drive, my cdrom and cd_rw remains "e" and "f" in the control panel. They seem to be "d" and "e" elsewhere. Is there any reason for this. It works fine, but could become very confusing.

Mice That Are Not Tall ( Not Big Lengthwise ) - Suggestions

Its time for a new mouse and i wanted to know your suggestions. I currently have the microsoft intellimouse explorer 3. 0 which i love, but it is waering out and i know there are more accurate mice out there now. This mouse is the one that is not as tall as the 4. 0 version, which is key for me, because if it was more than 1cm taller i would be able to use it on my keyboard tray while it is under the desk. I wanted to know if you guys know of any good mice that aren't too tall (not big lengthwise), something around the height on my current mouse.

Mouse For Big Hands And Long Fingers

I'm a logitech man, but at this point, i'm willing to look at other options. I used to be a very competitive gamer, and i'm looking to start getting back into that. I used an mx518 for a long time, and really liked it. I tried out a logitech g5 (version 1), and couldn't stand that it only had a back button rather than a back and forward (as i use those for leaning in fps games), so i stuck with my mx518. Once the g9 came out, i took the plunge, and aside from it being slightly uncomfortable (as i have big hands and long fingers), i liked it overall. I liked the "wide load" grip for the extra mouse foot, thumb rest, and the grippy feeling. The coating came off, so i threw it out, and have been using the other grip. Now, the mouse wheel kinda catches at one point every revolution, so the hyper scroll wheel really doesn't work, and that's driving me nuts, not to mention it skipping a mouse wheel click while gaming. Should i try to get a hold of a new g9 or grab a g5 v2 (the blue version, which has a back and forward button)? Or is there another mouse that would suit me nicely?

Cable To Connect Netbook To Big Screen Tv

What type cable can i use to connect my acer aspire one netbook to big screen tv?

Answer:- it depends on the t. V. I believe your netbook has a vga port so you should be able to use that, most t. Vs have a vga port. If your tv only has a dvi port you could get a vga to dvi adapter. Cables, click on vga or dvi depending on what you decide to use: http://bit. Ly/7ca4yw

Computer Randomly Download Big Files

I have a windows xp home edition, but more importantly i have verizon wireless internet card. My amount of information that can be sent and received is limited a month. Ever since this morning my computer has been downloading crazy amounts of things. Yet when i look to see what it is in task manager it doesn't say anything is running. I checked the process tab and nothing seems out of the ordinary. I'm at my wits end. I'm fairly capable with computers, but when it comes to technical things im completely in the dark. I've ran avg virus scan (after updated which took 3 hours since my connection is being hogged by some other download) and ad-aware. Both found a few minor things that were removed. A back door something and a few trojins and malware. But it still continues to download insane amounts of information. I'm not sure if this is related, but whenever i try to play an audio mp3 windows media player 11 suddenly freezes up, but if it has nothing to do with said problem i can live without it. If it is somehow tied together that would be awesome. As i've typed this up i've burned 101mb's. 5 minutes and 101mb's burned. I only get 5gigs a month. Please for the love of yemma.

Drive Letters Got All Messed Up

I had drives:

Hdd1 = c-storage (primary), d- empty, e - winxp (d and e are logical)
Hdd2 = g - storage (primary)

I needed more space on partition e, so i deleted partition d and extended e. After that, windows just stops at welcome screen, mouse moves, no hdd activity, when u press keyboard a few times, it starts to beep; safe mode does the same. I got my xp cd and found out that all drive letters were messed up. I'm guessing that is the reason why windows doesn't start. Without really thinking, i went back and moved what used to be e and created what used to be d. I was hopping that it will return all the letters to what they used to be, but it didn't. They were all mixed up again. Any suggestions before i do anything that would make it even worse?
