Dell Mini Keyboard Smaller Than Normal-keyboard ?

How much smaller is a dell mini keyboard than a normal keyboard? I recently purchased a dell mini laptop and was wondering-how much smaller is the dell mini keyboard than a normal keyboard? I don't want my fingers to feel cramped. I was also wondering how much smaller the screen is. Are items on the screen actually smaller or do you just have to scroll around the window?

Dell mini user's opinions are very welcome.

Keyboard For Normal Use

So i am looking for a good keyboard for normal use. I don't care about showy leds (but if it is on there oh well) or special features. I write papers alot, as well as game too. I have been looking at keyboards for gaming, and they seem strange, so only a normal one.

Keyboard With Normal Function Buttons

My logitech media elite keyboard is getting bad so i'm in the market for a new keyboard. I thought i could just buy a media elite again, but no logitech hassled around with the crappy keys , resized the function buttons and voila: media 600 keyboard. Thanks, but no thanks. I'm done with those stupid proprietary function buttons. Is it just me, or is there nothing decent on the market? I'm looking for just a "normal" keyboard:

Black
Qwerty-layout
Normal sized function buttons
Normal positioned function buttons
Solid
Normal buttons (not laptop style)
Around same feeling as the media elite keyboard
Numpad

(Thing as volume keys / mute / media / mail / etc. : Nice to have. )

I've had a look on the logitech g15 and don't like it at all:-

-Expensive
-Big
-Doesn't type as nice as the media elite
-Who needs a illuminated keyboard? I can type blind with all ten fingers and if you slide off the keyboard you can easily find the 'f' and 'j' because they have that ridge. A illuminated keyboard only distracts. The only light should be numlock, caps-lock and scroll-lock. -A display on a keyboard? No, i have my teamspeak client on my 2nd monitor. I've crashed a lot when flying chopper in bf2 because of the stupid randomly positioned and sized function buttons , so normal sized and positioned function buttons are a must-have. Would also be nice if there would be no need to cover 'escape' with the lid of a 35mm film can. I guess i'm not the only one waiting a keyboard that matches above list, so if you found one, please post. Edit: i have no problem with ergonomic keyboards as long as the space-bar is split in two (or firmly connected so i can cut it in two myself. ). The microsoft ergonomic 4000 is a perfect example of a completely failed keyboard because the space-bar doesn't work that well being curved in two directions. http://www.Pc-maeuse. Gaming Keyboard With Short Keystrokes

I've been doing some research lately on gaming keyboards. So far the g15, saitek eclipse ii, and merc zboard look great. What i'm really looking for is a board that isn't gigantic, has all the standard keys on it, backlighting, and most importantly short keystrokes. I think the eclipse ii would be the best choice, but i just wanted to know what other people thought.

Good Keyboard For Gaming And Office Work

I do game a bit, but i also do a lot of "office" work. I need a new keyboard, since this one i've got is pretty much shot. At this point, i'm thinking the logitech g15. I played with it at fry's, and really liked the keystroke, although the ergonomic to straight transition will take some time. I really liked the programmable "g" buttons, and the on-the-fly macro stuff. First question: what keyboard do you suggest. Second question: can the "g" buttons be programmed for macros as well? For example, i want to program g1 to be ctrl+shift+del, and i want g2 to be a chain of buttons such as "down, ctrl+v, home, enter. " Can i do all that?

Microsoft Wireless Keyboard Cuts Out When Gaming

Its a microsoft wireless keyboard 4000 (4000 or 5000, but im pretty sure its 4000), and it cuts out. Like in a game, if im holding "w" to run, i will just stop. I'll have to let go of the button and re-press it. It gets worse as the batteries die, but even when they are fully charged, it happens often. Nothing wrong with the keyboard when typing though, just gaming . Its a great k/b, the batteries last like 2 months in em. Is it a known problem with this keyboard, or is mine just stuffed? Also (im presuming its stuffed), do you guys know any good, cheap, wireless keyboards, that are reliable? (Preferably logitech or microsoft). If possible, one with a charger so i dont have to always recharge my batteries.

Suggestions For Wireless Keyboard, Mouse For Htpc / Gaming

Okay got my new htpc rig set up on my 62" dlp so i can now do my ht and gaming now. My old keyboard and mouse won't cut it (old logitch and mce kb). I have tried the logitech mx5000 bluetooth mouse and keyboard, and bottom line, lag is impossible. It's like a good 2-3 second delay at random intervals. My next choice i was considiring was the ms desktop elite, but have read similar but lots fewer complaints about lag. I need a mouse that at least has 1 or two side buttons. Distance from htpc to couch is in the 10' to 12' range max. I'm open to suggestions and or experience with the ms elite.

Intermittent Keyboard Problem - Keyboard Is Non Responsive

I bought a compaq presario sr1630nx a few months ago and i've noticed an intermittent keyboard problem for the last month or so. I don't know if it's a hardware or a software problem or how i would tell. The keyboard has a ps/2 connector. I have not changed any of the default hardware. Symptoms: i sometimes try to type and no keys on the keyboard do anything. The mouse works fine. I am not aware of performing any particular action before i notice that the keyboard is non-responsive.

Rebooting makes the keyboard work again. This problem occurs with a frequency of 2 times a day to once a week. I've installed more recent keyboard/mouse drivers for this machine (posted on the compaq site), but that's hasn't helped. Does anyone have an idea what the problem might be? Is there a utility that i could run when the problem happens that would give me more information?

Looking For New Keyboard

Looking for new keyboard. As an old-school computer user, i have always used these old clackety clack keyboards. Either scavenged old keyboards or newer ones based on old technology. (At the moment i use keytronic kt1000, great keyboard) reason is simple, i can press almost unlimited number of keys at the same time, no matter what the combination. When keyboards at first started "evolve in technology" to smaller and lighter ones, the ability to press multiple keys was lost or at-least it was limited to certain combinations. Is it still this case in nowadays? (I haven't followed the evolution of keyboards, really) while my trusty keytronic is still functional, there is a thing that i would like to have: back-lighted keys. This would be so handy when playing in the dark whenever you suddenly loose "the feel" where the keys and your fingers are!

But this pressing multiple keys is a question mark. Being able to press any keys at the same time in any combination is important for me as a gamer. One thing though, macro keys are not needed. Never felt the need for them with my old keyboards, and most likely they will remain unused in possible new ones, so personally i would like to not have them at all, they would just make the keyboard bigger.

How Much Would You Pay For A Keyboard ?

I am considering getting a razor lycossa mirror gaming keyboard which is more or less in my budget, now i never knew a keyboard could cost so much until i saw the price on their tarantula keyboards. All this because i recently (yes just recently) added a blue cathode tube to my antec 902 & now i want a keyboard which glows in the dark to go with it so i can sit here, play in the dark & enjoy my master peice. Would you pay almost $100 for a gaming keyboard or is $80 more then enough?
