5850 Problem - Monitor Goes Blank

Even though i have all my games set to the same desktop and refresh rate as my monitor (1920x1080 60hz), when the game loads or whenever i alt tab, the monitor goes blank and takes a few seconds before popping back on, just like it would do if i was changing resolutions. It never did this with my old video card (8800 gt) and i've also tested 2 different monitors. Any idea what's going on here?
Running the catalyst 9. 11s and win7 64bit. Edit: after further testing it seems that dragon age can alt tab without the monitor blanking out even though it's apparently set to the same settings as the other games. Wow and crysis act like res is changing when alt tabbing though.

5850 Dual Monitor Flicker Issue / Fix
Was pulling my hair out today after receiving my sapphire 5850 in the mail. At stock with a clean install i was getting the annoying flicker issue. I run 2 hp lp2475w monitors, and it's i now see well known with this flicker issue. I figured i would just attach the bios i edited to make this all go away. And anyone can just edit my unlocked asus bios in rbe themselves if they want to over/under-clock the card and immediately get rid of the flicker issue without messing around with ccc profiles or msi afterburner. So it's basically in 2d mode 400/1200 at 1. 0875 volts and in 3d it's set at 850/1200 at 1. 0875 volts. I think the key to the flicker is the voltage in the x18 register in the gpu voltage editor. Please ask any questions. But if you know how to use rbe this is pretty simple to figure out what settings i used. Pc Monitor Screen Kept Going Blank While Using
Yesterday my monitor screen kept going blank while using my pc. The fans and computer were still running and the monitor was receiving no signal. A buddy was at my place and said he had the same issue and to replace my monitor. I went and bought a new monitor came home, hooked it up and the same issue kept happening. Funny thing is, if i hook the monitor up to the motherboard monitor connector everything works correctly. So am i left to think this is a videocard and/or powersupply issue?

I recently acquired another computer and monitor from a friend and decided to hook both monitors to both towers to troubleshoot. Both monitors work fine when hooked up to the second computer, and both monitors stay blank when connected to the first computer. So, the problem has to be in the tower. What sort of problem does it sound like i have? What should my next step be? The only spec i have for the machine, since i can't access the hard drive, is that it's running xp.

Blank Monitor After Frozen State
Usually after several minutes or about 5 minutes of computer use time my computer freezes up. After this i reset the computer and wait for it to boot up but instead, when the computer starts up (like the power starts on) there's no display on the monitor. It's plain black. I turn it on and off and on and off and about after 10-20 mins it starts up normally again. I usually got an error sometimes after it froze saying something about my intel graphics driver. I looked around the forum saying it could be the motherboard or a bad cpu but currently right now i don't have the type of cash that would be enough to make repairs. I want to figure out what the problem is besides the mobo since mobo's are not exactly cheap. (Attached is what cpuz read)

Dell Monitor Screen Goes Blank
I have a dell 19" monitor. Model #1907fpc. The monitor turns on for a second and i can see my desktop but then the screen goes blank. Anybody out there that can give me some advice on how to troubleshoot this issue? I want to keep this monitor as it has multiple usb ports on it. Also does anyone know how to open the monitor so i can take a look inside to see if anything came unplugged?

Computer Not Booting, Monitor Blank, No Beeps

Monitor Screen Will Go Completely Blank For About 2 Seconds
So i got a new lcd monitor. This one , actually. It seemed like a good deal. Anyways, i think there is a problem with it. Every once in a while (about every 20 minutes), the screen will go completely blank for about 2 seconds, and then turn back on and be completely normal, and then repeat about 20 minutes later. I know its minor, but my god it gets annoying. I am using the digital output on an ati radeon 9550 256mb video card. Have any of you heard of this problem before?
Do you think that there is most likely a problem with the monitor, or possibly with the video card? This is the first time i’ve used the digital video capability before, but why would it happen roughly every 20 minutes?

Drivers For The 5850
I've ordered parts for a new computer which should arrive next week, and i was wondering what's the latest driver and catalyst for the 5850? I haven't upgraded anything in years, so i'm well behind in the technology department. To give you an idea, i still thought the nvidia 8 series were top of the line. I've got a free installation for my new pc, but i'd want to make sure that the drivers et cetera are the latest (and the best working ones).

Just wondering what would be the way to go. 2 x 5850's in crossfire or one 5870? I do a fair bit of gaming and multimedia production. Any pros and cons of each setup? Im looking at a new machine and the mobo im looking at supports crossfire.

I don't want to get up and go buy a new psu however my 5850 just arrived. The question is can the 430w psu support it and my i7 920 rig. Also running corsair h50 water cooling kit and two 640 gb blu's. Running an antec true power trio 430w tp3-430
Each 12v line says it's rated for 16a and no more than 32 a combined. Thoughts?
Of-course xfx recommends a 500w and 75w per pcie line

One of the updates that came with the 9. 12 hotfix was displayport audio. Has anybody got this to work? If you have could you please let me know how you did it?
I can't find how you would enable this feature or if it even needs enabling. But i have a xfx 5850 connected to a u2410 via display-port and can't seem to get any audio from it.

5850 Clock Error
I've been getting this weird behavior from my asus 5850. I'll play a game for about an hour and a half, and then the game will start to stutter excessively. I'll close the game out and then notice that in afterburner, the clocks are pegged at 400/900 core/mem. It stays that way whether i return to playing a game or sit on desktop. If i return to a game, the stuttering is no longer there but it just runs at slower speed respective to 400/900. I have it over-clocked for normal operation at 950/1200 @1. 262v. Temps never get above 75c. It's happened in cod 6, dragon age, and company of heroes. Usually happens a little over an hour. Only way to get it to work normally again is a reboot. Screen Shakes With 5850
I bought an xfx 5850 and installed it in a new build recently. My problem is sometimes the screen "shakes" up and down. It'll occur infrequently when nothing is happening on screen. 5850 Coming Out Of Sleep Error
Anyone having trouble with overclocked 5850 or 5870 coming out of sleep mode? I'm using windows 7 32 bit and when the card comes out of sleep, it will hang and the computer will lock upf or a few seconds. Then i get a message saying that the display driver has recovered and all is good again. I am wondering if when using afterburner to oc, when the cards come out of sleep they are still clocked at the overclocked core and mem however don't get enough juice initally, (cause the error is the same error that i get if i overclock the card but leave voltage at stock. Booting into windows the card will hang and then get display driver recovered message).

Flashed 5850 To A 5870 Bios
This is really odd. Is it possible that i flashed my 5850 to a 5870 bios? I'm thinking maybe i accidentally flashed to some custom bios, or possibly a 5870 bios? For some reason ever since the flash my default clocks are 850/1200. The same clocks you would find on a asus 5870. I've been running the card this way all this time though posting benches etc. On these forums, so i doubt it's a 5870 bios. I'm thinking maybe i picked the wrong link accidentally in a thread which was for the asus 5870 - but perhaps more likely it's just a custom bios. ? Is this even possible to flash a 5850 to a 5870 bios?

Firstly, no nvidia answers, i am looking for a dx11 card and nvidia's dx11 cards are crap. Have been looking at buying one of these cards to keep my pc going until the 6000 series comes out. Currently using a 9800gt which is starting to go and isn't really great at keeping up with the latest games (bad company 2, all points bulletin, sc:conviction, etc). Have been putting a lot of thought into getting a 5770, 2 reasons. My current psu is only 450w and the 5770 requires a 450w psu, any higher and i would need to spend an extra £50 on a new one; and secondly i play at 1440x900 and from what i have read a 5770 will be all i need. 5830 is in the high end of my budget (around £180 average) and it seems pointless to buy the card when the 5850 is only a little more. Currently using an e7300 @ 3. 20ghz but i am upgrading to a q6600 and probably oc it to around 3. 6ghz. The main card i am looking to get is the sapphire 5770 vapor-x edition and with my q6600 i will mainly be playing apb and bfbc2. Some dx11 fps ratings would be useful, mainly at 60fps constant

Is Radeon Hd 5850 Compatible With Dq965gf?
Is the glorious radeon hd 5850 compatible with my dq965gf motherboard? I recently bought a new pc off ebay and love it to death and i upgraded the processor to a intel core 2 duo( though i think that's a bit irrelevant to my current question). I obsess over graphics in video games just as much as game play and performance so i wanna get the best i can get and the radeon hd 5850 set my soul on fire but speaking of fire i over heard something about crossfire something and got a little worried so could anyone please cure me of my technical ignorance and relieve my panic? Is the glorious radeon hd 5850 compatible with my dq965gf motherboard? I recently bought a new pc off ebay and love it to death and i upgraded the processor to a intel core 2 duo( though i think that's a bit irrelevant to my current question). I obsess over graphics in video games just as much as game play and performance so i wanna get the best i can get and the radeon hd 5850 set my soul on fire but speaking of fire i over heard something about crossfire something and got a little worried so could anyone please cure me of my technical ignorance and relieve my panic? I really want this card but i'm not sure if my pc can support it. Here's my pc minus the processor ofcourse. :

5850 Doesn't Support Dx11 ?
I just got a 5850 and wanted to try out the directx 11 demo on my windows7 but it won't run. I keep getting an error message that says i either don't have windows7, don't have an ati card or don't have dx11. I downloaded the latest directx from microsoft and dxdiag says i have directx11
My win7 has the latest updates according to the updater. I have a 5850 ati card
The mecha and the ladybug demo doesn't want to run. And when i tried the heaven demo, there's no tesselation. Is the 5850 really a dx11 card? Or is the text on their side just a marketing gimmick?

5850 Flashes Black Pixels When Enabling Aa
Pixels or artifacts, whatever you want to call them. It looks like a bunch of dead pixels blinking around the screen at random. At first i thought it was all games, but i've narrowed it down. It only happens when aa is enabled, and only in dx9 games. Here's a list of games i've tested thus far:
Dawn of war 2:
Aa = artifacts
No aa = no artifacts
Company of heroes:
Dx10 aa = no artifacts
Dx10 no aa = no artifacts
Dx9 aa = artifacts

Sapphire 5850 Issue With One Of Dvi Ports
I'm having a bit of trouble with my new 5850 - it seems that if i plug my 26" lcd into the top dvi port, it shows horizontal lines/glitches and tears whenever direct3d is invoked. This occurs in both windows 7 aero desktop (while moving windows around) and games. Also this only seems to happen when resolution is at 1920x1200 or 1920x1080, lower resolutions does not seem to have the issue. I have tried reinstalling the driver numerous times to no avail, checked power connections, and even tried different pci-e slots on the motherboard until i changed the cable to the lower dvi port and all of the sudden the issue seems to be resolved. I didn't change cables so it seems that my cable isn't the issue. I have a 720w enermax infiniti which powered a 4870 in the same config so i doubt it's a power issue. Do you have any ideas/insight on this? Is my card defective?

Setting Hp Deskjet 5850 Printer Wirelessly
Problem: no printer cd. So i went to www.Hp.com. There was no download button, so i followed the given directions. After doing that, i connected the printers ethernet usb to wireless router & tried printing wirelessly but no success. What am i doing wrong? When i connect the printers regular usb to computer it works fine. But the whole point is to print wirelessly. Printer: hp deskjet 5850 (wirelessly)

Slow Downs In Movies Full Screen On 5850
I got strange problem. When i watching movies on full screen ( like on youtube or intros in games ) i just got terrible system slowdown with black screen blinking. One move of mouse is just 10 seconds. All totally slowdown with black screen blinking.system just is very very slow. One action in windows is just 10 seconds+ like move mouse or other. So i making ctrl ald delete ( 4 minutes waiting ) and restart pc. Then is normal , but if i watch some movie again is the problem. In games is all ok. I can play 10 hours+ and its ok. Only movies is f*** up. Why ? On some site i just read that some people got the same problem like me. But i forget the www link. Is this 5850 problem? Or mainboard? Or something other?

Okay, so i just got the second xfx 5850 in my rig, but am waiting on the new psu to power the second card (should be here this week). The original card is already flashed to the msi bios sot hat i could use afterburner. The question is, can i still oc both cards, after they are in crossfire, or will the utility only see the primary card?
