Bios Does Not Detect Keyboard And Mouse

The bios in my pc does not detect key board and mouse. They are fine as they work on other pc , and i've tryed other keyboards, the same result. It's asking me to press f1 or f2 to load bios defaults but i can't cos keyboard does not function, but it does one flash at the start when i push power button. Is it keyboard port problem, is any way to fix it?

Computer Can't Detect Keyboard When Mouse Is Connected

I always get a "cannot detect keyboard, press f1 to continue" error msg during startups unless i disconnect my usb mouse; but i'm free to connect my mouse again when i boot into windows. This first started when i replaced the old pci graphics card i had with an agp graphics card while the old card is still in the system; so i thought it might have been an irq conflict issue (i had alot of ide devices connected to the computer). I have since tried removing either the pci card or the agp card and other extra ide devices, but the problem still persists. I've also tried switching the cmos battery from another computer, didn't help either.

Usb Keyboard And Mouse Work In Bios But Not After Xp Loads

Usb keyboard and mouse work in bios; but once xp pro loads, they're no go, why? The red optical light on the mouse turns off and the keyboard doesn't work. How come? The usb ports are fine, since both work in the bios. Is there something missing from xp drivers?

Bios Cannot Detect Hard Drive

I have an dell inspiron 530. Yesterday after moving the tower to another room, when i plugged everything back in, i booted up, but the bios screen took much longer than expected ( 2 mins) then it wanted to boot from the disk, which was weird because the boot sequence was set to hard drive first. I restarted and went back to the bios screen. Sata 0 detected nothing but the hdd was definitely connected

Sata 1 detected my optical disk drive

Sata 4 & 5 had nothing

2&3 were not installed in the first place

No matter how many times i reconnected the sata cables, it still wouldn't auto detect it in the bios screen. But i noticed the hard drive itself was spinning inside and the fact that it took a while in the bios screen when i tried to press enter and it said "detecting hard drive" in sata 0 but the others instantly said nothing was detected. Apart from the cd drive. Should i try and reset the cmos and try again or shall i take the hard drive to a repair shop and have them test out the hard drive if it is defective?

Bios Does Not Detect Hard Drive Properly

Windows will not load, error comes up on the screen saying "boot disk error, insert system disk an press enter. I go into my bios and i see wdc rom model-hawk being detected instead of my harddrive. The hard drive is a western digital caviar 250gb (sata)the mobo is a gigabyte ga-m57sli-s4. I got it to work once somehow, windows seemed to boot fine, i logged it, around 3 minutes after a bsod flashes (i couldn't see the error) and the computer rebooted printing the above error again on the screen. Also when the computer posts, i see "hard drive controller" and "multimedia device" on the same irq.could this affect something?

Bluetooth Keyboard In Bios

I have a logitech dinovo. The keyboard, mouse, and seprate numberpad all connect to the pc via bluetooth via the mouse's cradle. Is there a way to make this setup live from power-on? As is i can't get into the bios or hit f8 when xp is starting. Right now that's not so bad, but i don't look forward to building a new computer soon without bios access.

Keyboard Unresponsive At Bios

I changed my bios to overclock it by a minimal amount, and changed the settings from a normal setting to an optimized setting, then saved and restarted, when i restarted i received a screen i had never seen before. It said memory check and it reported it to be "ok". The screen then gives me a set of about 6ish options but when i press the specified keys nothing happens. I've tried multiple keyboards and none of them seem responsive.

No Keyboard Was Detected At Bios Posts

I have my 2nd computer and it stopped working for some odd reason. When i boot it up it does not find a keyboard. I have tried multiple keyboards usb and ps2 one of them was the one i am using right now to write this. It was working fine a week ago and no nothing. The computer powers up and the bios posts and it goes into booting up but will not pick up a keyboard. It even shows that no keyboard was detected at post. - Motherboard
- Msi k8-neov (i think)
- Processor amd sempron 2600+

Anyone have any ideas whats going on? Did the mother board bite the dust?

Usb Keyboard Works In Bios But Not In Windows Xp

I have this friend whose ps/2 keyboard port is broken. He bought a usb keyboard to use with his pc, but when he gets to the winxp welcome screen, the keyboard wouldn't work, so, naturally he can't logon for the keyboard to be recognized. Are there any possibilities to get the keyboard to work before logging into windows? Also - the usb keyboard works when he tries to go into the bios.

Gigabyte Bios Doesn't Like My Usb Keyboard

There's even an option in the bios that lets me enable/disable usb keyboard support. Although it's enabled, my keyboard won't work in bios. Ironically it'll let me hit del to enter bios, but then my arrow keys don't work. I'm dual-booting vista and xp, and unless i use a ps/2 adapter, i'm going to my default os every time. Plus i'm using a logitech keyboard with itouch software, and the special media keys and such don't work unless the keyboard is connected through usb. Is there anything i can do? I'm getting pretty tired of switching between usb and ps/2.

Keyboard / Mouse Unresponsive

I had put in my usb flash drive, then my computer rebooted, so the computer boots back up, and now the keyboard and mouse functions do not work, i can no longer log into windows. I thought maybe it was a random thing, so i reboot again and it does the same thing, no response from my input devices. So i check to make sure these devices are still working by hooking them up to my other pc, sure enough, they still work. So then i test to see if i can even get into the bios. Well, thankfully i can, so it must be something while booting to windows after the post, cause the computer sees the hardware and lets me use it during setup, but not on the windows login screen. I even tried different ports, and different keyboard and mice ( ps2 and usb ) and they all will not work on this now dysfunctional pc. Can somebody help me as to why this is happening? This is rather strange, i changed no setting. Why working only in bios?

Keyboard / Mouse Freeze On Xp

The mouse always works until you try to type something, and then the keyboard and mouse quit working. The computer itself is not frozen. Sometimes the computer has to be restarted 5+ times to get it to work right. Do you think it is an issue with the keyboard, or the ps/2 ports? I could not find a virus. It has a cheap lite-on keyboard and roswill mouse.

Mouse Headset And Keyboard Under 30 Each

I'm looking at either the microsoft habu or the razer diamondback, how different is the diamondback in terms of shape since i found the habu to be very comfortable? Headset wise i'm looking at the plantronics gamecom 367 or the sennheiser pc151 headset i don't really like logitech since the last two headsets i've had were logitech and their sound quality has been pretty awful. This combined with the complete lack of durability (one of the earpieces in my current headset died randomly and the other one fell off and refused to reattach) has put me off logitech. I was looking at the saitek eclipse ii or something in that sort of price range. I'm only willing to pay up to 30 for any of the peripherals.

Bluetooth Keyboard / Mouse

I have a customer looking for a wireless keyboard and mouse but he needs it to go 16 feet without any issues. I think the bt ones can do that no problem but they all seem to cost $200! Does anyone know if there is a decent kit in the $100 range? If not are there non-bt models like the 2. 4ghz ones that can do that range?

I saw some of the logitech wave kits with 2. 4ghz but in the reviews cust said they started having problems over 10 feet. Any suggestions would be great he doesn't want to spend $200+ on a kb/mouse but he needs the range!

Keyboard And Mouse Stop Working

My mouse and keyboard started to be non responsive. I would be in the middle of writing a sentence, but all of a sudden my keyboard and mouse would stop working, then about 10 seconds later start up again. It wasn't a total system freeze, because chat messages would still appear on msn, and everything would still move about on screen when i was playing a game. This happened on and off for about 1 hour, until i couldn't get the keyboard or mouse to work at all. I booted my pc this morning, but my keyboard and mouse still failed to work. It would boot into vista and xp fine (im dual booting), but they still wouldn't work - even before i could get into windows. I reset cmos, i tried switching out the ram but nothing seems to work, and the problem seems to be getting worse. About 5 mins ago, i tried to boot into xp, but my whole system froze, and my motherboard let out a faint single beep. When i boot up, i get a single beep telling me that all (should be) fine. Anyone ever had this problem? Or anyone know how to fix it? I have tried different keyboards and mice, and i've tried plugging the usb ones in different sockets, but it didn't make a difference.
