Usb Network Connection

Can i connect to the internet from this usb port, and if so how? I have no software for the gateway so i have no idea where to start.

Cannot Get The Network Connection To Enable
I have a dell pc with xp home and i just took my pc off of a domain. Had to get the administrative password as well, which i did. Also, i cannot seem to stop a log in window from coming on with the original administrator name on it even if i'm the new administrator seems like he is still built-in administrator. I cannot get the network connection to enable. I have installed the latest drivers and i have a network adapter installed for wireless use when-ever i get the network connection to enable. I don't know yet how to use the wireless situation in my building but the access points, routers, and modem is within the building for all tenants. The bottom words come up when i try to use the network wizard. I'm good in bios and the nic isn't on. When it was it didn't work neither. I'm not sure what is network- pxe or pxe bis default policy or whether to turn them on. Some of this computer's network hardware is still disconnected. Before you can continue, you must either plug in or otherwise connect all of your hardware, or select "ignore disconnected network hardware. Any assistance is welcomed i will be on for another hour.

How To Setup Network Connection ?
So yesterday i had to reinstall windows xp on my computer due to a virus, and its working properly but i cannot seem to set up a network connection. I have the cd that i got from the isp but even when i go through that it says theres errors and such. I have a laptop that is connected to the same internet connection and it still recognizes the connection so i have no idea what to do to get my main computer to recognize that connection as well.

Network - The Connection Was Unsuccessful
If i am connecting to a network and it says "the connection was unsuccessful" does it mean i got the password? I am running windows 7 and when i try connecting to a wifi network and i get "the connection was unsuccessful" and "this computer currently has limited connectivity to (network ssid)" does that mean that i have the right password for that wifi network?

Repair Wireless Network Connection
Whenever i click on the repair button this is what is being returned:
"Windows could not finish repairing the problem because the following action can not be completed:
Disabling the wireless network adapter
Make sure your network adapter is properly installed. "
Whenever i try to disable the wireless network connection this is what is being returned:
"It is not possible to disable the connection at this time. This connection may be using one or more protocols that do not support plug-and-play, or it may have been initiated by another user or the system account. "
Is there a fix to this problem? I was able to repair my connection untill just recently.

Network Connection Speed Issue
There are 4 computers and a printer connected to a switch. Well, this computer i'm on right now was just set up about 3 days ago, fresh install of vista (even though i'd prefer xp lol). The 3 computers that were already here get 150+ kb/s download speed. Ever since i hooked this one up and started using it, it hasn't gone faster than 30 kb/s, and stays about 19-25 kb/s. The ethernet port on the motherboard is bad, so there's an ethernet/network card instead. It worked fine at my house, which is where this computer was at before being formatted and brought here. I don't know how to tell which ethernet/network card i have, so i have no drivers. I'm guessing that's a big part of the problem. Any help?

Local Network Connection Cable Unplugged
I have win xp home edition and i recently had a problem start and i have no clue as to how to fix it. Last week my system started giving me the error that my "local network connection cable unplugged" and now i cannot get my network to connect. Here are the specs of my computer: amd xp 2200 cpu; biostar motherboard model: m7viq ver 1. 2 with via vt6103 lan chip; 768 pc2700 ddr memory. I run a vcom (system suite 5 utilities) firewall and virus checker. I have a broadband connection (motorola surfboard sb5100 cable modem) that runs through a 4 port router (network everywhere, linksys nr041). I have 3 computers networked through the same router and modem and no other computer has a problem with connecting to the internet, or to one another. Here are the attempts i have made to try and fix this problem but was unsuccessful (first i disabled the firewall and virus checker):
1. I've checked cable and it was plugged, tried a differnet connection on router and no success. Tried new cable, still not success. 2. I thought maybe a game my brother loaded (heavy gear ii) could have overwrote some important networking files since it is an online game, so i uninstalled the game. No success. 3. I tried 3 different restore points prior to the loading of the game and still no fix. 4. I ran xp's repair current windows utility and this still did not fix my network connection. 5. I've tried a different nic (realtek rtl8139/810x fast ehternet pci card) and it does the same thing as the onboard lan connection by giving me the same error. 6. When i go to the hardware manager, it says that both devices are working properly. 7. I pinged 127. 0. 0. 1 and nic checks out fine. 8. When i do a "ipconfig /all" at the command prompt, i get that both nic cards "media state" are disconnected. 9. I've done research on the internet on this problem and have not yet found an answer. I even went to heavy gear ii site and did not find anything that would help. I'm not even sure that the game caused the problem to begin with, but i'm out of guesses. I would like to go the windows update and run the updates on my system but i cannot get on the net to do so. I did load new drivers from a floppy for the realtek nic but that didn't work either. Can someone give me any suggestions on what to do next?

Ethernet Network Connection Faster Or A Wireless
I am going to be changing my network at home soon because at the moment i have a 10/100 connecting my two pcs together. I have recently purchased a laptop which i want to connect wirelessly to the network and i am also beginning to start transferring large files across my network so want to upgrade the speed of the current connection. I was wondering is a gigabit ethernet network connection faster or a wireless one faster? I have always thought the gigabit ethernet connection is, but i don't actually know all that much about wireless networking. What i have been looking around for is a wireless router which is compliant with either 802. 1b or 802. 1g standards, as those are the ones my laptop supports. Although i think 802. 1g is faster so i would prefer that and have been looking for that mainly. Also the router i have been looking for would need to be a cable router so i can connect my modem to it via ethernet. So far though i have been unable to find all of this built into one device. I have managed to find a wireless cable router with a 10/100 switch, but never with a 10/100/1000 switch. I would also like to find one with a built in usb print server, but as i can't even find a wireless one which has a 10/100/1000 switch built in i don't think there is much hope of that happening. One thing i want to know, is what i am looking for even available?
If this isn't available all in one, what is the best way of going around this? Is it best to buy a gigabit router then have a wireless access point connect to it and a print server also connecting to it?

Okay so we run a wireless network at home. The problem is one of the computers (my brother's) will lose its internet connection after alot of bandwidth is used in a short amount of time. But the network connection remains. Its as if the router quits sending the internet to the computer although it still says "excellent connection" on the wireless utility program. Even after a fresh reformat the problem persists. Okay so i have a brand new dell laptop with the nicest wireless-n capable card you can buy and with all of the drivers up to date, i also have a netgear wireless-n capable router with all of its firmware up to date. Here is the problem, i can only get a max of 58 mbps, even though i have the router set to "up to 300 mbps" and i am close to the router with no interference. I have high speed cable internet from cox. When i check the status of my network, it only goes to 58 mbsp max, but sits around 26mbps and fluctuates a good amount in between.

Abit Nf7 Nforce2 Network Connection Problem
Configuration;
Abit nf7-s v2 (nforce2) mb w/ udp v4. 27
Fresh install of win 2000 w/sp4
Only three usb devices hooked up; card reader, printer & usb2 card. No other devices)
I removed the three usb devices (uninstalled drivers) but it made no difference. I assign static ip address for my three computers (other two have been off)
No conflicts noted in device manager
Only 12 processes loaded at startup!
No virus scanner running. After the "preparing network connections" box disappears, it takes 40 seconds before i see the desktop! I timed it many times. On another nforce2 mb (epox) it is a matter of only a couple of seconds after that dialog box disappears. Questions:
1. If you disable a device in device manager, does windows still load the drivers for it on next boot?
2. If so, could that still cause a issue (assuming it was a issue in the first place)?
3. If there was a ip conflict with another machine, if those other boxes were off, it wouldn't matter would it?
I don't remember having this issue before i moved this box back where it was originally (from using it with my hd ptv to the office). The only other change is it on a different router port. Btw, i also have fp, er, xp loaded on my 2nd bootable hdd and it hangs there also. Any ideas?

I downloaded avast (free) antivirus program and now the network connection symbol / icon that shows the internet connection (local / local & internet) at the bottom right of the screen has gone. Usb External Hard Drive Front Panel Usb Connection Problem
I have a usb connection external hard drive. It works perfectly and is detected in computer one.computer 2 and 3 starts to detect it but stops and says there it might have problems working perfectly. And no drive letter shows in computer 2 & 3. But computer 1 reads it shows it. All 3 computers have win xp pro and all 3 computers detect and show all other usb devices with no problems. This issue here is with the front panel usb connection on all cases. Not the back. Anyone here have a solution?

And no drive letter shows in computer 2 & 3. But computer 1 reads it shows it. All 3 computers have win xp pro and all 3 computers detect and show all other usb devices with no problems. This issue here is with the front panel usb connection on all cases. Not the back. Anyone here have a solution?

Can you use a usb 2. 0 cord with a usb 3. 0 connection? I want to get the new black magic intensity pro, but my laptop doesn't have usb 3. 0 connections, is it possible to use a regular usb 2. 0 cable in a 3. 0 input like in the black magic intensity shuttle?

I bought the 652 usb network server but i haven't the installation cd and i don't know how to set that thing. I want to connect one external hard disk and one printer and also configure the bt download. I connect the server on my pc but nothing happens. I tried with static ip and dynamic ip but nothing. And since i'll probably soon be adding some firewire and usb 2. 0 connectivity to my machine, i wondered if anyone had any experience with running network over one of these. Prime questions:does it work?Does it work well?How's the system load? Does it take up more, less or equal resources compared to a 'normal' pci nic. Best Way To Get Max File Transfer Speed (network, Usb, Etc)
I use a laptop for my main rig (hp dv8300), and i am setting up a nas in the near future and i'm trying to come up with the best way i can get the most speed to dump data to it. It's a 945gm express chipset. I have usb 2. 0, firewire of some flavor (i can't figure out which one it is), pci card slot, express/54 card slot, 100mb nic, intel something b/g mini pci nic. Ideally i would want to get a 1000mbps nic, but since my nic is onboard i can't really swap it out. A 1000mbps usb 2. 0 nic would still limit me to the 300mbps speed of usb 2. 0. 132 mbps for express card. Right now my best idea is just to get a wirless-n mimo mini pci nic and swap it in. Unless someone has a better idea.

I have ativa wireless-g usb network adapter and it's been a problem to install. Idk if this thing requires the software but i highly doubt it. The model site says it has vista drivers but they are in beta stage but i still tried to install them but for some reason the install wizard said they installed but there isn't any trace of any files in the main folder in program files and the app. Won't even start upon start-up.

I bought a usb device that allows me to put my pink and green leads " from my speakers and my headset mic " i connected them in and put it in my usb device and my sound seems pretty different! I am uncertain if it is better or worse? But i normally had a hard time hearing music from my left speakers until i connected them to a usb device instead, now i hear the right and left perfectly! It appears better but i am also not sure what the story is? Is the usb connection better? I also have a sound card, is this making my sound card not being used? Since the connections are no longer plugged into the sound card?
